If North Karnataka people follow lingayat tradition, that's there wish and choice as they are Basvanna followers and that's not the only philosophy and its not even like other philosophies are wrong or something. Everybody has their right to follow philosophies of their choice and showing one or the other in negative light is wrong. For us all the Vedas, Upanishads, Bhagavath Geeta etc are written in Sanskrit and they are sacred for us. However marriage purohits charging exorbitant fees should be taken into consideration but that doesn't mean their profession itself is bad. For ex if a Auto rickshaw guy charges exorbitant fare prices, we can't simply say his profession itself is bad as that wouldn't make any sense. Rather something needs to be done to bring the price down.
