mastodon is one of the few bands where the drums act as a melody and lead instrument

Wish they'd play more material off Remission nowadays, such an underrated album!

They can’t scream like that anymore so it’s understandable, Brent completely wrecked his voice because of this type of material. It was amazing but they just can’t play it like they used to anymore. they can do like a song or 2 here and there but they can’t be doing a bunch of songs often from this era.
@shillian4770 Жыл бұрын
@@puppetmaster8551 Did he really? shit i was hoping at one point they'd do a whole album tour. This album will forever remain in my favorite arrangements of sound ever written, it cuts you like a knife, but makes you realize you are the one holding the knife.
@puppetmaster8551 Жыл бұрын
@@shillian4770 yes, Troy can’t scream like this anymore either, they still rock mother puncher and fire ants these days but vocally it’s different than back in the day, think the chances of them playing this whole album at some point are pretty low. Remission fuckin rules tho and I’m glad mother puncher and fire ants are still often in their setlists

Haha, people are allways saying that the crowd in Mastodon shows sucks, but I think a big part of them is so overwelmed by the music that they just want to listen to it, I mean, it is well-structurated and mysterious music, it owns!

man zildjian are the best cymbals you can get, the original cymbals used by everyone, even guys like beethoven used zildjian cymbals in their orchestra, sabian are descent but theyre just a zildjian knock off, although this has nothing to do with the argument. I cant really speak for meinl or paiste cymbals because ive never used them, ill always be a zildjian user

@munk-a-dunk51887 жыл бұрын
From Opeth I prefer all their previous albums until Watershed,unfortunately Mikael Akerfeldt can't growl anymore as before (maybe the same situation as Troy Sanders from Mastodon) both bands have taken another direction,but I respect that decision.
@TeddyRodriguez8187 жыл бұрын
Mainstream how? Because they play what they want and don't care who thinks what? Mastodon is one of the few most genuine bands around today. Everything else is mainstream reproduction of the last generation. I'm glad they changed because then they would have gotten drowned out by the massive influx of hardcore bands that came after this era.
