Absolutely love Russian Tea - I personally get Raspberry Jam, Mint, Tea and smoky Leather. Very complex, very multifaceted, it really takes you on a journey. Personally, it’s my favourite creation of Mr Rasquinet… a real masterpiece imo. 🤤 (Definitely not for everyone though, so it’s not a blind buy. Sample first for anyone interested.) Another great Maté Talk, as always - can’t wait for the next one. 🙌🏻

The Báhn Cam sounds a lot like a Chinese Mooncake. Also a very festive dessert, but not for New Year’s I think, it’s an autumn item. I missed Tea for Two from L’Artisan Parfumeur in the lineup. Quite nice, but a bit short-lived. Certainly worth a test but maybe not full bottle worthy (though I never was able to find a ‘vintage’ bottle, those might be different).

Like a lot of fragrance collectors, I like getting complements, one of my friends who just doesn't get it (he still wears axe body sprays if he wears anything), he says I'm being either narcissistic or attention seeking. I struggled with that as that's just not my personality at all, I never seek out the limelight or need to be the centre of attention. It came to me later I like complements on my fragrances for 2 reasons firstly and if I'm being honest the main reason I like that my taste is validated and considered good by others, the 2nd is that it often opens up a conversation on one of my favourite subjects me oops no not that, fragrances.

You should get your nose on some of the State of Mind fragrances. Most of them are tea scents, and are just incredible! I love Secret of Success in particular.

Terrific video Marcelo, I love Wulong Cha and would love to try Russian Tea. I don’t know if it’s because I spend a lot of time in Hawaii and am a fan of all things aquatic but I don’t find Megamare difficult to wear at all 😎🌊. The Sesame balls sound like fried Japanese mochi👍

I love that you mentioned megamare. I got a sample of it and didnt have my glasses on so I just sprayed it on thinking it would be something good but I was not ready for that oceanlike smell.. wow.. i really needed to be ready for it. I didnt scrub it off but I did grab that bottle and my glasses 30 minutes later to see what the heck it was and then did a little research. I am not sure that is up my alley but for people who like sea/ocean scents... this is a big 'yes' for you all to try

I have only smelled 1, but my impression from that 1 is that Toskovat blows and he has no idea how to even blend a fragrance. It was such an embarrassingly poor synthetics bomb that it makes Parfums de Marly smell as if it was actually Royal Crown. For context, the scent was Annacamento & was included in the ScentXplore box. I think the best tea scents in the market are largely the smoky-aromatic ones. Russian Tea is one, but I also love Matsukita and I'd say I like Indigo Smoke as well. From the fresher ones, it's all Wulong Cha, but State of Mind "Aesthetic Turbulence" is there with it in my opinion. I did not like Aqua Media, very boring fragrance. Le Labo's TM26 was also very boring. Floraiku's "The Moon and I" is good, but that scent performs like water.

Thank you for always taking the time to bless us readers with your breadth and depth of knowledge. I hope it wouldn't be too much to ask, but would you be willing to point me in the direction of a few perfumes / perfumery houses (that have your seal of approval)? For context, I am nineteen years old, male and have a small-ish perfume collection, it includes: MFK, Baccarat Rouge 540; MFK, Oud Satin Mood; MFK, L'Homme A la Rose; Fuegia, Humboldt; Fuegia, Beagle; Xerjoff, Naxos and Renaissance. What I'm looking for most out of a fragrance is to smell alluring -- which to me smells sweet, fresh and slightly smooth without being too overpowering as a scent presence ( unlike Oud Satin Mood which has a tendency to a blow a room up). I hope I have provided enough information, I am eager for a response, but I have no expectations that you will do so :)

I'm going to check out Annacamento; I'm pretty certain that it's in my discovery set....I'm curious to see what this is like. Great suggestion with Matsukita; unique take on the classic tea scent and one that leans heavy on that 'smokiness' rather than the fragrant aspects of the tea. Hey Robert; yes all the 'main' episodes are filmed in 4K. Whereas the Mate Talks are in HD....but having said that (and as you might have seen over the past few Mate Talks) I need to upgrade this camera😒 It's driving me crazy with all it's recent ticks (switching off randomly, etc) Lets see what the future holds🎥🤔 Good to hear from you mate👊🏽
