I've confirmed, yes indeed i can't see you guys losing in court. He has a company listed, that company whatever you think of youtubers is viable and so is not restricted by Covid. The police did not do due diligence. It's not up to people to prove their innocence. A five minute check would have avoided all this.

Unless they've issued you with fixed penalty ticket fine you should first get a court date to turn up in court. Make sure you turn up!!! It's harder to get fines withdrawn AFTER you've got them! I worked for the Magistrates court for almost 20 years.

You do know the corrupt magistrates will issue the fines regardless so you will need to appeal them. The police are attempting to force the fines by using trial by media even though there are reasonable excuses for leaving your home, work being one of them and there are no maximum travel limits on how far you can travel for work.

Nice one mate. Everyone should be contesting these illegal fines. Drag it out for as long as you can, ask for all relevant paperwork, put everything in writing and contact them by post with 2nd class stamps, challenge everything and anything, clog up the legal system at all costs, and they'll soon get sick of it. I believe the Scottish legal system got sick of being clogged up with Scots that didn't pay for a TV licence, so they informed Capita not to bring any more attempted prosecutions as they couldn't process them all. We need to do the same here!

Hi Matt - good to hear that you are defo contesting the fines which are clearly wrong and are a pure retaliation tactic by the police. As I said before, the police station video clearly shows that your reason for being out was accepted by the officer there, so use that video as a defence against the fines in the prison video later in the day, and that should be all the evidence needed to get the fine squashed, then sue the a**s off them. Let me know when you are back in Lincoln and I will buy you both a coffee, if I can get near enough to you for all the press around you. 😂 Stay safe man and give Osc a pat for me.

I've had a fine for attending an anti lockdown protest in Liverpool. I told the police I was there for the protest . The fine came through and I contested it straight away . I received a reply saying the police were considering taking no further action . I don't think the procedure is through the courts . These ACPO fines are not even from the courts. I'm sure you will get a no further action too .

@@topcat1358 Oh I know that. They can appeal and I'm 99% sure they will win. I just didn't think the fine was really just a FPN but I stand corrected. Just for clarification I said it's only 'game over' if you don't appeal in time or you've accepted it. From my knowledge if you don't pay or appeal then they'll take you to court. Seriously though thanks for taking the time to clarify without resorting to abuse, I learned a few things which is always a bonus I probably didn't explain myself well 🙂 From reading not all councils have appeal procedures and if they don't you take your case to the magistrates court. If you lose you'll probably get a higher fine and now you'll have a criminal record. Likewise if you don't pay, you'll be taken to court and could end up with a criminal record again. If you are not guilty you won't. If they are appealing or others decide to they need to know the ramifications of 'guilty'

Hiya Matt, when you eventual get back to Lincoln, you need to be asking for the accountability for the 4 so called officers who stuck the fines on you. What about wasting there and more importantly your time! You could of told them till you were blue in the face what you were doing and they wouldn't of believed you.
