The work you have done is amazing, but my favorite part is YOU LET PEOPLE PICK AND CHOOSE WHAT CHANGES TO APPLY! So often, there are mods that fix things but also add changes that arguably stray too far from the vanilla experience. Everyone is going to have their own opinion on what constitutes staying "true to the original", but in this case we can all decide for ourselves!

It was brought to my attention that there used to be a sandstorm blocking entry to Onu-Koro before that chapter was added. Any chance you'll integrate it? It could theoretically block access until after you obtain the Book of Chronicles, though I'm not sure if the files still exist for the sandstorm or not. On a similar note, but I'd love for the lava river on the beach to block your path and prevent you from seeing Tahu or Ta-Koro until after you view the Legend of Mata Nui cutscene up by the telescope.
@ontocron Жыл бұрын
The sandstorm file is long gone, but I noticed at the Po-Koro crossroads in the 2006 version, the 'destroyed village' sound effect plays if you go there before visiting Ga-Koro. That's probably where the Onu sandstorm would be. However, I'm a bit reluctant to limit player choice without a good cause, such as how many players would entirely miss the introductory sequences in Ta-Koro because of Maku. I will think about adding in some form of lava river, though.
@GhabulousGhoti Жыл бұрын
@@ontocron The lava river is still in the game, the BMP version from a few years ago at least had the lava river, but it was visual only so you just clicked past it. I wasn't into Bionicle back in '01 (nor were most people in December 2000 when this was relevant), but my understanding is that you couldn't click past it in the first release until the second chapter was ready to go, which could easily be repurposed to ensure the player doesn't miss the cutscene by the telescope similar to how Maku won't appear until after visiting Ta-Koro. And I do totally understand the desire to not restrict player choice. For me at least I wouldn't mind that because this game is basically a visual novel so linearity doesn't bother me, but I do totally understand why it might not sit right with you.

One thing I would like to see is more tohunga variation in the earlier chapters. Like in Ta-Koro, I would like to see characters seen in MNOG2 like Nuhrii, Tiribomba, or whatever swapped with some of the tohunga we see in MNOG1. I'm sure that would require lots of work to recreate the assets though.

I remember playing MNOG as it was having chapters released and you had to find the Lightstone, I want to say somewhere down in the caves. Then years and years later when I came back to replay the game every online version I could find, be it in-browser or a download, you just started with the Lightstone. Minor thing but it always bugged the hell out of me. Is that changed here? Or am I misremembering and you always started with that?
@Daler99Productions Жыл бұрын
This is coming from someone who originally played MNOG when it was rereleased in 2006, but I have played the original version on BMP. In the original version, you found the backpack and light stone in two different huts in Ga-Koro. In the rerelease, you automatically start with them but the dialogue in the game still tells you to find the light stone in Nokama’s hut. I’d assume this version of the game harkens back to the original game
@ontocron Жыл бұрын
As @Daler99Productions said, this mod is intended for the "Original (2001 Version)" game from BioMedia Project, in which you have to find and collect both the backpack & the lightstone.
