The up and the down side of the guitarist's (Empuu) playing is that he plays what is needed. Sometimes a solo sometimes very little spotlight at all. Sometimes you wish you could see him more but you know the song doesn't need it. However, watch the band enough and you realise how awesome that characteristic is. And the the whole band has the same 'modesty' which makes all this majesty possible. There is a song for everyone to shine in there. You will find it eventually.

You've finally met the Queen! Arguably the most powerful female voice in the world. From opera to hard metal and everything in between, you're just scratching the surface of what she's capable of - such as her jaw-dropping 4-5 octave range like you just heard at the end here in Romanticide. And the whole band is simply incredible. Subbed for more Nightwish! Live is best - from Wacken 2013 which has ultra hi-quality recording: 1) Storytime, 2) Ghost Love Score, 3) EverDream, 3) Ghost River, 4) Song of Myself - and all the rest from the same energetic concert is incredible. There are even great operatic vids of her like Phantom of the Opera and so so much more. Anything by Floor Jansen and Nightwish is amazing. :) Glad you've finally discovered Nightwish.

Best method for reacting to Nightwish, if you prefer Floor like I do, that I figured from watching reactors and discovering them recently and exploring their catalog myself: Keep the particularly long and complex songs listed below, if you have not watched them already, for after you have seen all the more standard ones from the 4 live shows mentioned in the numbered list: - Ghost Love Score (Wacken) 10 minutes - The Poet and the Pendulum (Wembley) 14 minutes >>> Doing some research on the background story for this song is very important to be able to appreciate the meaning of the lyrics. - Greatest Show on Earth (Tampere) 21 minutes 1- Just do all the Wacken 2013 songs, they are all great. 2- Then the Wembley 2015 ones that are not part of the Wacken show. 3- Then the remaining songs from Tampere 2015 that were not in the previous 2 shows mentioned. 4- Then the older songs from Buenos Aires 2018 that were not in the previous 3 shows mentioned. 5- To see what they can do with a cover and if you like Marco's singing, watch their interpretation of Pink Floyd's High Hopes. 6- Then you can explore Floor's versatility with her band ReVamp's live performances of the songs Disdain at Graspop and Wild Card at Bloodstock. 7- And finally go in the deep end of the Floor talent pool by reacting to her performances on Beste Zangers in the order the episodes aired. Welcome to the world of Nightwish with Floor, all of their songs on their live recorded live concerts are at this level. Was great seeing your having your first Floorgasms (named after the lead singer Floor Jansen), the most versatile female singer on the planet, from pure Opera to heavy metal growling she can do it all at top level. Just watch Ghost Love Score from wacken 2013 and you will see a bit more of her versatility. For real growling you have to watch Yours an empty Hope from Wembley Arena 2015. (Watch carefully because lots of reactors think its Marko the bass player but its really Floor)

Now, now lets not fight over who liked it the most? I would seem that you both enjoyed this song very much. I love and respect Taja's operatic vocal ability, But I too am a big fan of the Dutch queen of symphonic metal, Floor Jansen. She gives Nightwish a much more metal edge to their music and live performance. The opener for this Wacken 2013 show would another great reaction video for you two. "Dark Chest of Wonders" is a little more operatic. It is song originally sung by Tarja, the 1st singer and will let you hear how Floor approaches this older song. Great job with this one. Peace.

I have seen Kiss, Sabbath, Ozzy, Megadeth (my other favorite group besides Nightwish), ACDC, Queensryche, the list continues with about another 25 or so bands. Nightwish was the most impressive live mainly due to Floor's vocals. Honestly keep going with Nightwish/Floor. Maybe do Ghost River Waken 2013 to hear more Floor/Marko harmonizing.

Floor Jansen is my favourite singer. Nightwish is my favourite band. I love them. Wacken 2013 is one of the best concerts you can watch. It's so good. I recommend Song of Myself or Storytime from it. Then Ghost Love Score if you want a long one. She is perfection in it.

It's very easy to get hooked with Nightwish epic music. You hear them once, you just have to get more. Nightwish's music is simply utterly addictive. Be prepared for a intriguing journey. I would suggest you's check out the entire show from Wacken 2013 and then move on the the more current material. They are so on point and in sync with each other that it's very hard to tell the difference between 2013 performances and 2020 performances. They really have a noticeable, stable sound that is only Nightwish. I've been fortunate enough to see them live on four occasions and let me say the sound and experience is unlike any other. If you ever get the chance to see them live, do it! Any don't worry, there is already talk of rescheduling the world tour that was canceled so hang in there everyone. Nightwish is coming!

Welcome to Floor Jansen, one of the most versatile vocalists in the world today. This is a fraction of what she can do, opera, screams and growls. Other heavys are Devil and the deep dark ocean, yours is an empty hope and if you want something that makes most metal bands lightweight Master Passion Greed (never performed live, Marco on vocals) If you like Epic you are covered as well, Ghost Love Score (defined the word Floogasm for the goosebumps you get when Floor sings), Poet and the Pendulum needs some background research first to get the backstory and Greatest Show on Earth... 24 minutes of epic song about the evolution of Earth. But pretty much anything Floor sings is pure perfection and when her voice is combined with one of the best composers and lyricist in metal today you get Nightwish.

Welcome to your second stop of a now probably long, surprising always awesome Nightwish journey. This band is from Finland. Tuomas is the keyboarder, Songwriter, composer. Marco is playing the bass and doing also the vocals. He is very versatile and an awesome singer as well. You might watch „The Islander“ from Tampere to experience this or Nightwishs cover of „High Hopes“ by Pink Floyd. Emppu is playing the guitar. He can shred it but he always does exactly that much, that is required by the song. Kai (also Wintersun) is now at the drums and replaced the original drummer Jukka (whom you saw here) who had stop playing the drums due to health issues. But he still is with the band. Julka was a perfect drummer and showman, Kai is a perfect drummer and a machine and beast at the drums. Then there is Troy, a multi instrumentalist from England who in older performances supported the band at some tracks but became luckily a full member of the band after this tour. He‘s a great singer as well. Last but not least there is Floor, the Dutch singer. She is the bands third singer after Tarja (operatic) and Annett from Sweden (pop/rock). She can sing really everything from opera over pop/ rock to growls. When her hair is swirling, it‘s called the (Dutch) windmill. This gig was at Wacken. Wacken is THE metal festival worldwide. Nightwish were one of the headliners in 2013. It is in the north of Germany in a rural area. Therefore the bullhead with flames is the Wacken symbol. There are more than 80.000 metalheads having a big party each year. Here are some suggestions for your next stops: -> Ghost Love Score (Wacken 2013): THE "traditional first song" to get into Nightwish. Floor is showing diferent capabilities and you can get a first understanding of Tuomas capability of songwriting -> There are only great songs from Wacken: „Story Time“ and "Ever Dream" are catchy in a very positive way. "Song of Myself" starts catchy and ends with everyone headbanging. "Romanticide"which you just watched, "Last Ride of the Day" and "Ghostriver" are the heavier ones. -> "Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean" (Buenos Aires) will give you a metal and power blast: Maximum speed and Marco (the singing bass player) becomes Hannibal Lecter ;-) -> "Yours an Empty Hope" from Wembley (have a good look!! at the growls. You'll be surprised.) -> „Dead Boys Poem“ from Buenos Aires (so amazing and emotional) -> „Weak Fantasy“ (Tampere): Kai the beastat the drums, Troy joins in, great duets with Floor and Marco, … -> Elvenjig / Elvenpath (Buenos Aires): Awesome intro and it continues on that level -> "The greatest Show on Earth" (Tampere) is one of the two most epic songs. The title is not about the gig, but about the topic of the song: The evolution of mankind. -> "The Poet and the Pendulum“ (Wembley) is my personal absolute masterpiece of Nightwish. Be sure to know the background of this song ahead (short version see below *) ***** From the new album there are for obvious reasons no live sessions so far. For all songs there are lyric videos, except for „Noise". But maybe you'll give some songs a try as well. It's an awesome album. Definitely not an "easy" one with a lot of really unique songs, different from what is "typical" for Nightwish. Floor said that she was really challenged to sing the songs that Tuomas wrote for her. Knowing her abilities, you can imagine that they are "special“. It‘s a good idea to hear the album in the given order, but nevertheless here are some of my options to some of the songs. -->"Noise" is probably the most "typical" song and the only one with "real video". The video is great as the song itself --> "Tribal" is the heaviest one and Kai, the drummer, had to change his normal setup to be able to play it. --> "Shoemaker" (about Eugene Shoemaker) is such a heavenly and epic song with the possible epic ending. -> „Pan“ is just an amazing ride. When it starts you for a moment think you‘re listening to Floors husbands band „Sabaton“. In the song you‘ll be reminded to „Tribal“ and „Noise“. -> Procession“ a rather calm song with so amazing vocals by Floor --> "Harvest" is so different with Troy singing, that you will wonder if you're listening to Nightwish. -> „Endlessness“ is Marcos song and shows his great voice. --> "Music", „How's the Heart", ... are really cool songs as well. Of course. The album challenged Floor as singer, which is not easy to do, as she is one of the best and most versatile singers in the world. ***** If you'd like to Explore Floor on her own: Beste Zangers Just in case (which I can really recommend) you're going to do "Beste Zangers" make sure you take the clips posted by "jenniezelf" on KZbin as she has also included the talking / interviews before and after with english subtitles. The concept of the show is, that on one day all singers sing a song for one of them. It's a song that is by that singer or a song that means a lot for him / her. So it is very interesting to get to know the story behind each song. And it will help to understand the reactions of the other singers. Floor is singing there in German, Dutch, Spanis and English. Her "Phanom of the Opera" duet with Henk Poort is legendary. ***** * Backstory for „Poet and the Pendulum“ Tuomas (the keyboarder and songwriter) was in depression after the split from their first singer Tarja. He was in the position to either commit suicide in real real life or to write a song about it and die within that song. Luckily he choose the latter option. He is the poet, "killed" by the pendulum. And afterwards there is darkness, silence and just a fading heartbeat. It gives me a shiver every time. As this song is so emotional for him all the others have an eye on him. Marco and Floor are perfection pretty much live! There harmonies are definitely a big part of the Nightwish magic. Personally I think Emppu is the heart of their live performances, he keeps it light for the band anytime he isn't playing and any time he has the focus he switches into serious mode and plays exactly what is needed for the song and no more :D

Love your chemistry and love how real you are. No KZbin personalities. You're fun without being over the top. It's great. To hear Floor really go metal I suggest Yours Is An Empty Hope from Wembley. The cruise version is great, and I believe she goes a little deeper during the chorus, but you can actually see and hear(in my opinion) her much better in the Wembley version during the chorus. I also find the mix in the Wembley one a bit better. Take care, guys!

Hi! I enjoy reading the other commentators views, and in a way we are all one big family. However, I cannot agree that the next video you should react to would be "Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean", live at Buenos Aires. To give some statistics: "Ghost Love Score" has the highest number of views at 18,211,880 (as of today, Sept. 22, 2020). (This is also the most commonly reacted to video as well, and sometimes a reviewer will hold back using it right off the bat, it since it is what everyone else is reviewing as well). The song I would recommend you do next is "Ever Dream", Wacken 2013. This is what I usually suggest to people who have never heard Nightwish before. It has 16,955,101 views as of today. Next would be my personal favorite of all the shorter NW songs: "Song of Myself". It currently has 13,746,213 views as of today. On the other hand, "Devil + D.D.Ocean" (official release by Nuclear Blast), has only 1,224,525 views as of today. All Nightwish songs are great, that particular song and video is just not as great as many of the others.
