Try this recipe while green peas are still in season.
Matar Paneer Recipe.
Ingredients:
2 tbsp oil
2 bay leaves
1 inch cinnamon
1 tsp cumin seeds
2 finely chopped onions
1 - 1/2 tsp ginger garlic paste
4 whole garlic pod
2 slit green chillies
2 tomatoes pureed
1 tsp red chilli powder
1/2 tsp turmeric
1 tsp coriander powder
1 tsp cumin powder
1/2 tsp chaat masala
1 tsp kitchen king masala
1 tsp jaggery
1 cup fresh green peas
200 gm cubed paneer
1/2 cup water
finely chopped coriander for garnish
1 tbsp butter
Preparation:
heat oil in a kadai. add bay leaves, cinnamon, cumin seeds. fry till cumin seeds splutter. Add chopped onion, ginger garlic paste. Fry till onions are soft on low heat fro 3 - 4 mins. Add tomato puree, mix well. add whole garlic & slit chillies. Add all dry masalas & mix well. Add green peas 1/2 cup water mix well. cover & cook for 3 - 4 mins on low heat. Add cubed paneer and mix gently. Cover & let it simmer for few mins. Then add kauri methi & mix. switch off the heat & add chopped coriander & butter.
Serve hot with Roti.
