why osku use 2 handed to do the 10 pin spare shot ?

1:50 Honest question. Why would he start with his left foot on board 10 just to drift all the way over to board 24 by the time he releases the ball? Why not just start and finish at the same board? I know less experienced bowlers often times have trouble drifting but I doubt that far of a drift wasn't intended. I'm not trying to be a smart ass either. I've recently transitioned over to a 2H (no thumb) bowler after 30+ years of bowling with a standard right handed release with my thumb inside of the ball and I'm wondering if maybe this helps him or what the reasoning for drifting over so far during his approach?

He has more ground to cover which means he can create more energy through his legs, less distance on his drift would be less energy. Could also have to do with timing issues.

It could be a comfort thing. In college we just accepted my drift, which was not as great as Osku's but more than most on the team, and we adjusted for it when counting boards. There's not much wrong with drift, as far as I know, some players have huge drifts, they just need to be consistent, like walking straight forward would need to be.
