Good commentary. It's nice to have some commentators that actually know what they're talking about and obviously these gentlemen do. I find it interesting that straight pool is neither SVB's, or Orcollo's best game, yet they made the U.S. Open finals. Orcollo shot a great match.

Excellent commentary... learned a lot listening to these guys. They stick to the action at hand. Most commentary on these types of videos is unfocused; full of unnecessary chattering; and at worst distracting. The attention of these announcers to the shot by shot does credit to the skill of these players. Thanks!

I’d be so pissed if I hit the banner from a sponsor with the back of my cue like Shane did on the opening shot of the match and have it make you miss a tough shot 🤦♂️

High risk low reward shots taken by both players. Acrobatic trick shot straight pool, pound the shots and see how far you can get the cue ball to run and move as many balls as possible. Is this the new way of shooting straight pool. I used to be able to call the shots but not in this match. The shot selections are a mystery to me. These guys are 9 or 10 - Ball shooters, they like running and chasing the cue around the table.

there are 15 balls to shoot, all of them legal hits. how is there only one way to play a rack lol, especially compared to rotation? you must be living in the 1950s. maybe you would have argued safety is more important than playing a long shot. defense is 'easy' to play and easy to reason about, but offense wins out every time, as a sport progresses.

Those guys would've been crush by the guys from the past. How many inning they had ? Back in the day they would've been lucky to have one.

I'm gonna enter that tournament someday.. I like straight pool to which am learning from snooker country and I'm gonna conquer you America in that sport..

Shane you are strangling your stroke. You are trying to be too slick or smooth when there is no need. Just like when you play one ball. Try shortening up your back stroke when shooting soft or rolling. To keep your cue on line with a good follow through with a long back stroke is asking for trouble.

Dennis has no idea on shot selection and is surviving on his shot making ability.
@EdWong20126 жыл бұрын
Shane this not your game or you need to practice patterns and learn to roll, throw and kill the cue in tight spaces without banging the balls around.. Straight pool is a finesse game not power. You look lost, a deer in the headlights. That shot before turning the table over to Dennis at 121 was a really bad shot selection that you didn't need to make, unbelievable bad rookie choice. Efren has the game for straight pool but you're a banger.

I think he isn't gonna change his playing to accommodate strait pool especially when he can run 50+ on average turn.

Also you watch Seigel, Masconi, they take power shots as well. and Play similarly and that is from decades ago.

you're going to pretend efren is a cautious player? difference between efren and the average player is efren is good at all games, uses everything from 3 cushion to banks in his game. difference between efren and these two pros is still the same, but these pros are not afraid to do the banks, combos, and 'banger' shots. efren is leagues compared to anyone alive, and these pros are leagues above you lol.
