Lol - it's The Match Game - it all happens very quickly and in varying states of inebriation. Here's a fun factoid from an article I found online: (I'll paste the link to the whole thing below it.) " THE EPISODES WERE FILMED MARATHON-STYLE, OVER A SINGLE WEEKEND. No wonder the panelists often seemed a bit tipsy as their answers grew more outrageous-they frequently were. Rayburn lived on Cape Cod, Massachusetts and flew to Los Angeles every two weeks on Friday, and then the cast and crew proceeded to tape 12 shows over the weekend. With such an exhaustive schedule, the panelists (and host) tended to imbibe a bit during the lunch break … and the dinner break. (Depending upon what time of day the episode was taped, the Styrofoam cup a cast member was seen sipping from was frequently filled with vodka instead of water.) Despite his onscreen demeanor, however, Dawson did not indulge; his beverage of choice was always coffee. The cast never appeared to be outright bombed, but they were decidedly “looser” in some episodes…" (Side note: I'm pretty sure Dawson was legit sloshed [or high] quite a few times. Even the finest actors have a hard time portraying drunkenness convincingly. Either and any way, he was probably my favorite panelist, if I were forced to choose. He was my $500 choice. @@annika_panicka Some of the female actress on the panel have said that Richard did drink and had some in the styrofoam cup during tapings.. Probably not alot but I have read that..

@@annika_panicka Richard has said he didn't drink so he had coffee in his cup. It says in MG101 that they had a one cocktail at the lunch break after taping 3 shows to looser them up but I don't think anyone was drunk but were professional who wouldn't want to be seen as drunk on film while looking for other work in the business that that what Patti D said as well. Patti said they were a walking party sober already.. I had read that Gene didn't drink, and told Bret in 702 that he didn't because of a ongoing med condition but in TMGR said he cut back on drinking the 80's so I don't know as the book was written way after Gene had past. After so long and most of the them have gone wouldn't they not tell the truth but who knows.. ;0)
