She did have it! She gave the same answer as Richard Dawson (sisters), and everyone says he's the best player! My answer was "husbands" though, and that matched Charlie Brill. Just yesterday I posted how much I like him, and now I see that I'm matching him more than the other celebs so far this week.

Jeri looked SO familiar! and I've been siting here all though this episode wondering who Jerry looked like. Finally, I got it! She's the spittin' image of Lucille Ball's daughter when she was on "Here's Lucy." In Season 6 of the show, Jeri looks almost EXACTLY like her

The bad news is that we're a ship. That HAS to be right up there with that one episode of MG with the question about Richard Nixon working at the restaurant and he said "I am not a BLANK" and the contestant said "waiter." Back to this episode, I would have matched Charlie Brill, though, but I do indeed LOVE Patti Deutsch's answer!

There's a bar in my city (Milwaukee, WI) called _Major Goolsby's_ that's apparently been open for 50 years. I find that odd.

PATTY thinks that she’s being funny but not match the contest is purposely! She’s just like BRETT not matching the contestants thinking that she’s gonna get a laugh! Which is really rude, hateful and ignorant

Still no Mano vs Mano What are they afraid of?
@LynxSouth3 жыл бұрын
I don't think they were afraid of anything except low ratings. Over the decades, research has repeatedly shown that women will watch men or women, while men, especially younger men, much prefer to watch women. Match Game's target audience was young adults, so it always had at least one female contestant.

@@LynxSouthI respectfully disagree. This is just opinion but I believe housewives of the day would have have rather seen other woman be on TV, hang out with the stars and have a chance to win big money. Male contestants we in short supply but they did seem to be quite a few cops, students and school teachers on the show. There were simply more woman contestants than male contestants.

On a ship? I don't think she was dumb, but was trying too hard to be clever instead of going for the straight answer. The panelists are prone to doing this too. See Patti's "in a castle" answer, which is even less explicable. I thought Dr. Welby's unusual item to cast was the patient's head.
@kevansf2 жыл бұрын
On a ship isn't actually a bad answer. I think it's a good punch line. The booze is in on the house, but unfortunately, we're on a ship, so tough luck! -- If we're going to call something "bad", I'd agree with Richard Deacon and say the question was bad (not the worst, but bad). In fact, both tie breakers were fairly lousy. Tie breakers usually have pretty clear cut answers, but these two didn't.
