No H/H match today! This week we have Fannie who's earned a very good rating in the H/H match, and Bobby Van, who has a 1-in-3 record (33.3%) which isn't awful (it's a bit better than Richard's current score). Gary has only been chosen once (successful match), but when he doesn't even come up with an answer to the audience match, it doesn't inspire much confidence for a contestant to choose him. And of course there's Brett who sometimes surprises (her score really isn't much lower than Richard's). I've always found myself matching her a lot both on the regular questions as well as the H/H matches. The only wild card is newcomer Adrienne Barbeau who seems like a sharp player... Here's the updated leader board showing the 9 celebs with at least 3 H/H matches, ranked by accuracy: Orson - 100% (3 wins in 3 attempts). Jo Anne Worley - 75% (3 wins in 4 attempts). Betty - 54.2% (13 wins in 24 attempts). Charles - 45.7% (16 wins in 35 attempts). Jo Ann Pflug - 44.4% (8 wins in 18 attempts). Fannie - 41.7% (5 wins in 12 attempts). Bert - 33.3% (5 wins in 15 attempts). Richard - 32.1% (53 wins in 165 attempts). Brett - 30.8% (8 wins in 26 attempts). *These stats include every head-to-head match from episode 1 through 356, excluding the lost/missing episodes: 31, 32, 33, 311, 312, 313, 324, 325. (As per MatchGameProductions, these episodes "are nowhere to be found and also aren't in the Goodson/Todman Library. Sadly, looks like they are lost forever!")

I could swear his girlfriend is that contestant that comes on later that was a playboy model and worked at a ski resort. It's her teeth that told me. I always noticed her teeth when she was a contestant, because she was pretty but not 100 percent perfect teeth. (It didn't hurt her looks, just saying I noticed)

I have the answer for you. It was one of contestant Karen Robbins relatives. The proof is in the very next episode of MG 74... At the moment she wins the tie breaker, (sorry for the spoiler) the very same person lets out the same maniacal scream. Fanatical, to say the least.

The studio audience would have been composed mostly of Southern California locals. In the days before ESPN you wouldn't hear much about sports team not in your local news area. So between that and the NFL not being nearly as popular in 1974 as it is today, it isn't surprising that Eagles wasn't an answer on the board.

I know I`m probably being offensive, but I have been skipping over the episodes with Burghoff, because he`s sooooooooooo ANNOYING. Can`t wait till C.N.R. comes back. They seem to be using Gary as a fill in all the time in Charles`s place. Couldn`t they find another semi permanent replacement? I always liked Nipsey.

@@amberola1b We just had a week with Orson in chair #3, and a couple weeks back Richard Deacon was there, so it seems like they're trying to alternate a little bit and not just rely on Gary.... But I'm watching the shows in order, so I don't know who they'll have on between now and CNR's return on #471. -- My hope is that they'll continue to bring in other fill-ins such as Nipsey and McLean, but honestly, I'm getting used to Gary and he doesn't seem at all annoying to me.
