We love you and this show anyway. This is a great break from all the craziness in this modern world.
I'm surprised more people haven't commented about Brett's makeup job, first visible at 16:43... Now, did she apply the marker herself, or did Charles have "a hand in it"? Inquiring MG fans want to know!! PS I intially thought it was Brett, figuring she had a few too many "sips of vodka", and got sloppy with her marker. But after Charles' comments, maybe it was him... We could do an informal poll. Hit the "Like"-thumbs up, for this comment if you think it was Brett. Hit the "thumbs down" if you think it was Charles. Cool idea Dave!!

Actually, what's wrong with me, if it was Charles' handiwork, she'd of been squawking like a chicken about it... So she must of drew on her own face, Charles just adroitly picked up on it.

The end of the week's shows and whatever container that the card drop into when they put them in the slots must have been full. At 12:12 Richard has to nudge his card to fall, and at 14:54 as Patti is about to dispose of her "fish" card you can see her "Kemosabi" card is still stuck in the slot.

She matched Brett for $5000, and then she matched Gary for $5000, and then the chose Richard and struck out. A lot of commenters tend to say that some celebs (Richard) are better at matching than others, but I think the trick is for contestants to notice which celebs tend to generally think the same way they do. Even when it's your opponent's question, you think of your answer and notice which celebs match you. That gives you some idea whom to choose for the head-to-head match.
@kristabrewer67362 жыл бұрын
saint Richard strikes out A LOT (and I DO mean A LOT), but I never feel bad for the contestant because EVERYONE should know by NOW how awful Richard is at this game. I ESPECIALLY don't feel bad for the contestant who picks him for the second time after losing for them the fist time. I even saw an episode where saint Richard lost for them TWICE, and they picked him yet again the THIRD time! (it's really hard to feel bad for someone like that)
@beckydutra65432 жыл бұрын
But her answer wasn't good this time. Or very usual.

I agree with Becky, above... I thought Dawson's answer was a good one, Linda went with one that was less well known. Even she expressed uncertainty with her choice. To pin this all on Richard is abit harsh.

@@bruceharbin9281 As I recall, Parton was well known long before Nelson. Anyone who had listened to country music had known her since the later 60s. She'd had the genre-crossing hit "Jolene" already in early 1974, and it was played a LOT on Top 40 stations.

September ________ (semi-spoiler) .... I think that was a really hard head-to-head match. I couldn't think of a single good answer and settled for September moon (although I'm not sure if that's really a thing or not). Even the contestant said she couldn't think of anything before tepidly offering her answer, which matched what Gary had written! Usually there are at least two or three good choices for a head-to-head match, so what am I missing here? After the kiss-fest, Gene tossed out "September Morn" but the Neil Diamond song wasn't released until 1979. September Morn is also the name of a Paul Émile Chabas painting from 1911 and the name of a 1914 movie based on that painting, so it's a stretch to think that either of those would be top of mind to a game show audience in 1974. Now that I think about it, my September Moon is probably a half-remembered version of the Niel Diamond song. I think I heard CNR suggest September Song... Anyway, what would you have said?
@davidjones9661 Жыл бұрын
@kevansf Funny, I just watched this episode on Buzzr this past afternoon. I thought of something for that September BLANK question, but 11 hours later, I can't even remember what match choice I thought of. Old age, haha. But to reflect on what you said, it was a tough one to match. I believe the show's producers intentionally threw in a few really vague/hard match questions, to limit the amount of money they had to give away. More so, they also liked creating matches that had so many good answers, like you alluded to, again so they could limit the payouts, yet kept the game interesting. Oh yeah, nice accounting work on the number of celebs who matched for the big money(a different post of yours-for those of you wondering...). As a former accountant, I appreciate the effort.
