Well, we're two days into the week without a single winning H/H match yet. We've got some unfamiliar faces on the panel, with Dwayne Hickman and Carol Lawrence being new. Marcia Wallace is becoming a familiar semi-regular, but hasn't been chosen yet, so remains somewhat an unknown quantity. (Personally, I wouldn't hesitate to choose her for the H/H match.) Gary matched the one time he was selected. That leaves Brett and Richard as the familiar faces with decent track records for the contestants to select from. Richard has been chosen all 3 times so far this week, but now he's on a cold streak and missed all 3. Here's the updated leader board showing the 10 celebs with at least 3 H/H matches, ranked by accuracy: TIE: Orson Bean - 100% (3 wins in 3 attempts). TIE: Joyce Bulifant - 100% (3 wins in 3 attempts). Jo Anne Worley - 75% (3 wins in 4 attempts). Betty - 50% (13 wins in 26 attempts). Fannie - 46.2% (6 wins in 13 attempts). Charles - 45.7% (16 wins in 35 attempts). Jo Ann Pflug - 44.4% (8 wins in 18 attempts). Richard - 34.9% (66 wins in 189 attempts). Bert - 33.3% (5 wins in 15 attempts). Brett - 32.1% (9 wins in 28 attempts). *These stats include every head-to-head match from episode 1 through 387, excluding the lost/missing episodes: 31, 32, 33, 311, 312, 313, 324, 325. (As per MatchGameProductions, these episodes "are nowhere to be found and also aren't in the Goodson/Todman Library. Sadly, looks like they are lost forever!")

Fun to see Dwayne Hickman. Dobie Gillis right? Richard sure disappointed himself whenever he got a head to head match wrong, let alone throw the right answer away. The pressure he was under by this time, being picked more and more often, to be right, had to have been immense -- and only got worse as time continued. No wonder by 76 when he was doing both am and pm Match Game AND Family Feud, he was truly upset when MG wouldn't let him out of his contract.

One of the reasons Richard Dawson hated Brett Somers so much was because she was in the habit of walking all over other people's punchlines. In "the business", that's called, "heckling", when someone in the audience does it but when another cast member does it, it's called "upstaging" and it's considered EXTREMELY rude... which, I suppose, accurately describes Brett Somers.
@deanstrand42603 жыл бұрын
She also just plain interrupted people quite a bit. That's also quite rude. I don't blame Richard for hating that.
@sharondaniels59123 жыл бұрын
She gave an interview later on in life and the feeling was mutual. She seemed to imply that the others felt the same way about Richard. She certainly didn't want him getting all the attention and being the most popular with the contestants

Not a lot of animation fans on the panel, I guess, or both "Lucky Luke" and "Flukey Luke" would have been possible answers. It isn't likely that the survey audience would have come up with either, though. "Lucky Luke" was a cowboy character that first appeared in the 1940s, while "Flukey Luke" was a cowboy character on the "Milton the Monster" cartoon of the 1960s (and probably an homage to "Lucky Luke").
