Wow! That’s interesting! I looked him up- Chip Keyes (Literary Agent) was born 1949 in Hartford, Connecticut and received a Ba in Theatre Arts from Hartford's Trinity College. On graduation, he moved to NYC where he wrote & performed in comedy groups the PORTABLE CIRCUS and KEYES & LIPPA, appearing in college concerts, nightclubs and theatrical runs in NY and Philadelphia. In addition to his comedy work, Mr. Keyes also worked in New York as an actor and playwright, having several shows produced as equity showcases, he wrote the following plays: EASY OUTS or the ADVENTURES OF ALPHONSE ON THE LAM, ARCHIBALD & BASIL and THERE’S A BROKEN LIGHT FOR EVERY HEART. He later moved to Los Angeles, where since 1980 he has worked as a writer-producer on hundreds of half hour television episodes, among them Valerie, the HOGAN FAMILY, PERFECT STRANGERS and SHAKY GROUND. Watching this episode again and I'm still annoyed that the usually nitpicky judge decided that building manager, superintendent, janitor, and landlord are all the same person. Clearly, Ira never lived in an apartment building. In many instances, the landlord is offsite. (I live in an apartment and haven't seen the landlord in over 6 months.) The janitor - if there's a janitor at all - may only come a few times a week. The building manager may be in another city. Only the superintendent may actually be someone you could "go downstairs" and bang on. Smh.

@@kristabrewer6736 I agree with you. In my experience as a renter the landlord owns the building and usually lives off-site. He might collect the rent. The superintendent manages the building and looks after tenant issues like heating. So I would bang on the super’s door. This is From the wiki dictionary : the difference between janitor and superintendent is that janitor is someone who looks after the cleaning of a public building while superintendent is a person who looks after the maintenance and is authorized to supervise, direct or administer something.

Fernicia answered "manager" to the question about who you would bang for heat. Then, we got such responses as "landlord" and "janitor." What do you know? Everything was matched. In my experience, a landlord and a janitor are not the same person. I suppose if someone said "butcher," they would have matched that, too. I wonder if Chip would have gotten such a liberal, all inclusive interpretation of his response. That woman didn't win legitimately. Yes, she does look like Lawanda Page, and that's not a compliment.
