I always liked this SUPER MATCH board better than the one that preceded it. This one looks like a proper game show board for its time.

I love to wait to the very end to hear Johnny Olsen advertise all these products from the 70s and the 80s! It’s amazing that we remember this far back and how well the products were then. Like a vacuum cleaner would last you 30 years! Not six months! Things were built to last then.

Ah the early days of game shows, u know we don’t get many comical technical mess ups these days on modern game shows, except The Price Is Right

One reason I love this show so much, they don't edit anything out. From Gene's mistakes to the technical problems. I love it! ;0)

WHAT YEAR/MONTH THIS AIRED?
@johnorosz11913 жыл бұрын
It was taped on 11/5/1978, and this panel's CBS episodes aired on Dec 20-22, 26 ,27, 1978, so it would have aired probably in early 1979. The exact date depended on the market.
@pencils8122 жыл бұрын
According to the MGPM episode guide, the air date for this was Jan 20, 1979. This was episode 20 of season 4.

I'm surprised no women smacked Gene for his nasty remarks. I was 18 when the third and I would have not let him get Bible talking to me like that.

notice how when Brett wins, almost, nobody acknowledges it, but when saint Richard gave the correct response, you couldn't hold em down

It's strange being married to a driving instructor. Every night in bed he tells me to PULL OVER. (Bzzt! Pretty opened ended question. Nobody matched anybody else.) My wife, the pretzel maker, must have had a bad dream. Last night she tied my ARMS in a knot. (1 match) It was a mistake to teach the lion to eat at the sound of a bell. Today, he ate the BELLY DANCER. (Bzzt! What does the Avon Lady have to do with a circus or lion tamer? Granted, Belly dancers aren't really part of the circus, either.) When I was a baby, I was left on a doorstep. For years, I thought I was a DOOR MAT. (2 matches, plus contestant) Don't order the aged beef. It's so old it's collecting SOCIAL SECURITY. (3 matches out of 3, plus contestant) Never stop fast in the marching band when there's a TROMBONE player behind you. (6 matches. My first thought was TUBA. I'm glad I changed it. Too bad for the contestant, though.) Take me to YOUR LEADER. ($250 match. I had thought of THE BALL GAME, but there was no OUT in the middle, so I went with Fannie's suggestion.) Much too SOON ($250 match. I almost went with MUCH. Oh, well. At least I matched something.) What Jack always was with Brett. Hen PECKED. (DING, DING, DING, DING, DING, DING, DING, DING, DING!)
