I had my parents old Record-a-call answering machine that I used until early 90's. I was gonna repair it but couldn't find the little rubber belts that needed to be replaced. That little black box next to the machine is a remote. You would call your number, wait for the machine to pick up and then hold that box up to the machine and press the button, it would generate a special tone that cause the machine to rewind and play you messages back.

Have to admit, I fast-forward to see who wins, and 99% of the time it's the female. That's why I think the game was rigged, for the ratings because people like seeing Richard flirt with them. I didn't.
