This was when football was enjoyable. None of this obsession with stats and possession all the time. You lost the ball you won it back. The premiership has gone boring

When football belonged to the working man. Back when there was real atmosphere at the footer not like the vastly overpriced sterile version we have to SIT through now.!!
@JordanCrump155 жыл бұрын
Harry Roberts totally agree the real working class of this country have been out priced. Also the leagues, clubs and associations have ruined it. Went to Wembley vs Watford in the fa cup semi final few months ago and the stewards make you sit down or get chucked out

My team manchester United shud of won the league in this year had tommy doc not played paddy Roche in goal for abt three games mid October. But one game against stoke in April 76 really put an end to a great season in division one. We even reached the fa cup final that year Ok don't gloat. Bobby stokes was miles offside!!!!
@waynemurray52642 жыл бұрын
🤣🤣🤣🤣 typical rag comment. Let me remind you, after 42 games or 38 as it is now, the BEST TEAM ALWAYS WINS THE LEAGUE. Everyone can look back at certain games and say what if , or if that had happened. My club MCFC were 6 points clear going into the last 9 games in 71-72, and that was when it was only 2 points for a win. Malcolm signed Rodney Marsh around March, we finished 4th on goal average, only 1 point behind Derby who won it. We couldn’t see it out , we didn’t deserve the title. Marsh’s signing upset the rhythm of the team, he admits this himself. The rest is history.

He may not have but what an entertainer. Along with Tony Currie, Frank Worthington, Bestie, Rodney Marsh and a few others, he drew in the crowds. Most players today are only interested in their instogram profile.

All the quality players that could play for England in the 70’s, why were we so awful?? I think that’s the worst decade we had for international football.

They needed a certain Mr. Clough at the helm.
@danw13745 ай бұрын
@goodlife6145 Brian wanted to control football at all levels. Clough once said after he was turned down for the England managers job "I think the FA were terrified that I would take over the place, and I would have done, I'd have taken it over lock stock & barrel"

The longer you try to keep a side together then the quicker they fall apart. The Leeds team from 76' onwards tried to compete but you could sense their peak had passed, it was a sad day when they were cheated out of the European cup v Bayern.
