If he'd stayed at City, Barnes could have become one of the all time great players - seriously. I don't think he ever mentally recovered from being thrown out by Allison, even at West Brom he spent all his media interviews talking about City. His form in the Man U 1985 10 straight wins side was just a glimpse of what he could've achieved in the 80s.

As a City fan I know who got the better deal...Daley to City or Andy Gray to Wolves...Wolves !!! Story from Malcolm Allison's side can be found on YTube. Allison didn't think he was even worth £600.000 ( a previously discussed figure between him and J. Barnwell at Wolves ) … months later Swales announces he had bought him for £1.4 million... ffs.
