Did he win the European championship man single title coupe years ago because Victor Axelsen was tested COVID 19 positive before the final match ? He acked like he wins it first time.

Have you won the European championship once and/or twice? Does it bother you that someone’s happy?

He repeatedly stains his reputation as a fantastic badminton player with his sometimes childish and unsportsmanslike behavior. Come on, Anders, grow up, be better, serve an example! The greatest athletes are not only remembered for being great at their sport, but also for being humble, respect- and graceful champions. Looong way to go, dude!

I've shared that opinion about him before, but on this I instance it didn't feel like he overreacted/ was unsportsmanlike? Would you mind sharing what you thought was impolite? I'm curious if it's cultural differences or just hidden badminton rules I'm unaware of.

If you actually realised the magnitude of these tournaments and how hard it is to win these, training over 40 hours a week just for these moments of glory. His reaction is very understandable. For other sports like tennis, football, and basketball, which don't require as much effort; you'll see the athletes celebrate 10 times more crazy than antonsen did. But I do agree he still is hovering around that top 5 range and needs to push a bit more to become world number 1

@@miguelsimao1577 To me it seems like he is the only player who almost loses it completely when it comes to close decisions that are not going in his favor. In that particular tournament he tried to intimidate a line judge after a close decision and exploded like two or three times and immediately ran towards the umpire, stamping on the court like a kid who got his candy stolen. The way he is delaying the game between points as well is almost reaching Carolina Marin standards. My impression was that he was the best player in the tournament without any doubt. Calm and composed on the court, very focussed. And then he completely loses it when he feels slightly treated unfairly in close decisions, unlike ANY other player. It's very out of proportion. In the Popov match there was one point where he hit a shot behind his back after the shuttle visible to the whole audience touched his shoe before. The umpire said he didn't see it, Popov complained and appealed to his opponent's fairplay and sportsmanhsip. Antonson was awarded the point and he didn't make a sound on the court, didn't show any reaction. The next point went to Popov and he stared Antonsen down as a reaction to his behavior. And feeling treated unfairly again, Antonson exploded, ran to the umpire, started verbally attacking Popov for his behavior. He initiated a kinda weird left handshake eventually, fair enough. I don't know, it's probably all within the rules, but it's very annoying to watch sometimes and makes him appear immature. As I said previously, it leaves stains on his reputation which he can avoid easily.

@@arfarfdearfarf what the heck are you talking abt? Tennis, football, basketball don't even require as much effort as badminton? Do you even play the other 3 sports? Or at least, follow and watch the other 3 sports to understand what the sport is about? You are out of your mind 😅

@@NoSoyElSuperhombre It is probably the opposite. The media largely covers those 3 sports and they are incredible sports to play. However, basketball is not even an option for so many people in the world simply because you have to be at least 6 foot to even stand a chance and even then you have to be well over. Basketball heavily relies on being TALL and strong and the players legs are extremely weak compared to other sports. It doesn't require as much stamina as well as there are so many breaks. Football is hard on the ball and when near the ball. However a lot of the time players are walking, ball is out of play, injuries, fouls and so many more cause a lot of disruption to the play meaning players can rest. Tennis is similar to badminton but I feel that it just doesn't require as much skill and is a lot slower and a lot less intense than badminton. Even though games last longer, players have so many, many breaks that they can recover a lot more easily than in badminton. I'm speaking from first hand experience as I've played all these sports and play badminton at a national level in one of the dominant countries of this sport.

Sad behavior once again from Antonsen - I can respect the effort and training you put into winning but your behavior is just not a good example for young players... be better !

@@mac-iq9hj You must be really oblivious to not see the amounts of times Antonsen has behaved badly in the past on court and in this final. And yes I prefer Toma Junior Popov, but I would say the same about him if he behaved like that (hint: he doesn´t.) You know damn well what behavior I am talking about. Great! You won the match but no one likes watching the match. Do you even play Badminton yourself to comment things like that ? Don´t think you ever experienced such a behavior...
