Great vid. Good landing nets seem hard to come by, handles especially. Can someone make a strong one please!

Great video. Won't the stop rubbers slip when playing the bream? Surely the pressure would be enough for the hooklength to slide down to the feeder? Not sure if that would be a problem, but Im very surprised if the stop rubbers have enough grip to hold position when playing a fish. Thanks
@duncancharmanangling11369 ай бұрын
When using size 16 hooks I play the fish very gently and the rubbers almost always stay put. Obviously the rubbers need to move under more pressure just in case of a crack off/fish lost etc. I find with some customers they tend to strike/pick the rod up too aggressively and play fish far too hard which means the rubbers slip down. If this happens then it's a good idea to protect the feeder knot with something like a small piece of tubbing which I always use when targeting tench that fight that much harder.

Hi Duncan, what is the optimum hook length on the helicopter rig and how far above the feeder should the rig sit, also would there be any advantage to tie an eyed hook with a knotless knot rather than a spade end hook? Keep up the good work
@duncancharmanangling11369 ай бұрын
Hi Steve, 5inches seems to be best for bream and place the stops holding the hook length above the feeder so that when you fold the hook length against the mainline the hook bait is positioned just above the feeder swivel. Spade end hooks, never used them always an eyed hook tied knots knot style.

Very funny and very enjoyable. Perhaps another challenge should be on the cards and then a "Shit Angler" trophy could be awarded to the loser!
@duncancharmanangling11369 ай бұрын
You up for the challenge then?

@@duncancharmanangling1136 Certainly, although I already have that trophy in my cabinet. Could try a carp fishing Match vs Specialist at Lodge Pond?
