Lovely build mate 👌 i think i had one of these back in my youth . My memory is telling me that it was green and i thought the engine was already sticking out of the bonnet. It was either the van or maybe it was a mustang. So long ago now , where has the time gone 😪. Great memories though 👍
@SidewaysKing753 жыл бұрын
Many thanks Robert. There was one with an engine already sticking out you're right...... It was mahooosive though🚕🚙🏎🚗🚓😁👍

Nice clean finish Chris ! I really like how the roof looks now. And that grill is 👍🏻 I had at least one as a kid, and yeah it never won any races, but was always around. And very cool spot about the Boss Mustang 😃

Good to see this one get the treatment, I really like the Vantastic casting. It shares a lot with the Boss Mustang as you say, and also the Piston Popper, but there are small differences in the bases and grille area. I shaved the roofrack off one of mine but left the kicked up spoiler on the rear edge of the roof. Might have to do another! Oh and it was real - an aftermarket conversion that was available in America

The Vantastic. The version you have is the one I prefer - it also came with a stupidly vast blown engine, because, as Lesney execs thought at the time: 'All kids love vast engines and dragsters'. No. No we didn't. Some models, yes, but not ALL of them, thank you. Not a favourite of mine, as to create it, they had to do surgery on the tooling of their rather tasty Boss Mustang - the yellow one with the black bonnet/hood. Now that was a cool model, very much based on a real example. So, a van based on a Boss Mustang? Yeah, right. Apparently, though, someone did make one. The mind boggles, although I always thought that it might make a cool hearse... Good to see you back. 👍👍👍

Nice!, very pimp (if youd done it purple it coulda been a bit of a pimpwagon). Ive been thinking of trying a wire saw instead of a coping saw for cutting out bonnets, panels etc, do you have any experience with using wiresaws?. Id think they would be a bit better than coping saw blades as theyd be less fragile.
@SidewaysKing753 жыл бұрын
I haven't tried the round wire saws to be honest so will be interested to see if you're trying it. 🚕🚙🏎🚗🚓😁👍
