Nice resto paul when this model was introduced with superfast wheels the tow hook was deleted which I didn't realise there are rare versions of this model green with superfast superfast wheels red with regular wheels which has chrome hubs black plastic tyres

Very nice restoration. Impressed with how you fixed the tow hook, it is hard to tell it isn’t original. Personally I don’t care for the tow hooks on most of the Matchbox castings, they seem out of place on most of the cars. But it is nice to see someone dedicated enough to restoring a casting completely. Great job!

Great Job as usual Paul, I've just done a couple of the regular wheel ones of this casting and changed them to Red as the original matchbox colour was green fo some reason. At least on the transition to superfast they got the colour right in the end.

It's just a difference of priorities, I suppose. You place more focus on the exterior; and I would spend more time sharpening up the insides. Also, I would photograph finished phases, along the way, for documentation. Each project would be coupled with a photo journal.

DZTV It is propably down to what the stock that the print shops inkjet printer can handle. The original litho card printing stock would have been thinner for both economy and machine handling reasons as it would have been a lot easier to stamp out and crease on the finishing machine. He never shows you what he uses on the glue seam but i would suspect it would a be line of hot glue from a heat gun.

it's not missing or damaged ... only the regular wheels 75 Ferrari before Superfast had the tow hook, Lesney also removed the exhausts from the base, the focus was the Superfast racing tracks and I think the back end caught on the loops so it got slimmed down a few mm in length and increased a touch in ride height by removing the pokey out bits, buy a track and some loops, run yours down it then you'll know for sure, growing up's so over rated sometimes, saw it all and enjoyed itself that one then went back to where it started, looking pretty in a box, full circle and gained a tow hook!
