Matchbox restoration Mercedes 450 SEL No. 56 Taxi, renovation, alteration, toy car make over

Today Mercedes 450 SEL Taxi no 56 produced in the years 1979 - 1985. It was produced in the versions: Taxi, Police, Ambulance and a normal sedan. The model had a simplified chassis without suspension. It was also produced in Bulgaria. The biggest challenge during renovation was polishing the original windshield of the toy. The toy car model had an original window, but the window was badly damaged.

Lacquer the polished baseplate. It prevents tarnishing. I had one of these as a child. My Late Father brought it for me. Prior to that he brought me the metallic blue non Taxi version...both long gone sadly. I have since replaced them with near mint copies as well as a few playworn versions that I can be less previous with. I have one that has a painted baseplate - metallic grey metal if I recall, the Taxi version that is. Oddly, I fished out all my small diecast out if storage as I was wondering if keeping them in the garage in all weather's would oxidize the baseplates etc...the one I have on display near my sofa is this very model albeit a tiny bit playworn...I think of my late Father when I glance at it...and recall how much happier I was back in the early 1980s as a small child receiving these surprise toys...and my late parents...a lovely restoration as ever Paul.

Excellent work, looks much better than it did. You can tell though, that the castings of the later models were not as good quality as the models from the 50’s & 60’s.

Witam . Kartoniki sam drukuję . Opracowywuję je na podstawie zdjęć pobranych z internetu. Te siatki które można znaleźć na wyszukiwarce są bardzo słabej rozdzielczości i po wydruku w drukarni cyfrowej wychodzi kasza. Pozdrawiam.
