Nice Job👍I like the rivet trick and happy to see you didn’t put back the decal, it looks more like a classic hot rod without it..and the windshield also came out great.. your a great craftsman

I am sure you know this but in case you don’t if you put baking soda on the headlights where the super glue is it makes an unbelievably strong bond. This model looks better than the original. Awesome job!

Try Alclad for your chrome, you spray on a smooth coat of gloss black paint first, and then the Alclad through an air brush. It's very close to chrome and a very smooth finish.

Where did you get the chrome paint from, and is it from a paint pen or paint pot? Great tip to remove the chrome from the plastic components. An excellent restoration, glad to see that you're restoring the long forgotten Superking models, I am doing up a Ford Capri Mk2 and am making a few of my own improvements (colour, Corgi wheels and interior change.
@DannysDiecastDisasters5 жыл бұрын
A Molotow chrome pen. The Capri is cool I am still looking for one but I have a few of the Speed King cars coming up 👍
@nigelcharlton-wright17475 жыл бұрын
Hello Danny thank you for the information I will have a look on line. I changed the wheels on the Capri after trying to make more in proportion to the model, made them look rather to narrow, found some old Corgi Whizzwheels from my collection of spares, now looks far more realistic in gold with a black vinyl roof. Now to attack the damaged windscreen and modify the interior, the removal of the the non-functioning parcel shelf and putting a boot floor in. Look forward to more of your uploads.

Very good work. Not many restore Kingsize Matchbox. The model looks like a Ford T Bucket: the iconic Ford V8 badge is on the radiator shroud. The steering wheel looks a bit bland in all black. How would it look with a light brown rim, to represent wood, and chrome spokes? I have repainted one Kingsize: K17 Case bulldozer, which was in very poor condition: bent and beaten up. The new paint on the blade crazed, for some reason, so it will be strip off and do it again.
@DannysDiecastDisasters5 жыл бұрын
Yes I did consider painting the steering wheel. I also thought it would look cool to get a tiny piece of chain and use varnish or sumthing to set it in a wee circle then use that to make a chain steering wheel

do i spot a crack in the windscreen?
@DannysDiecastDisasters5 жыл бұрын
The line in the windscreen is in the plastic window casting. Some clear styrene would make a nice window as well but as I had the window piece the right size I figured I'd use it.
