Well this wild and crazy week Fannie sneak ahead to win the week giving away 6,000 dollars in head to head and audience match matches with 8 matches, tied with Ethel who also had 8 matches for the semi regulars! :0) Richard gave away 5,500 dollars in head to head and audience match matches for the regulars with 7 matches for the week. Brett gave away 500 dollars in an audience match match.

Perhaps I said this on another copy of this episode. Ron is still alive and recently retired as a teacher and coach at the high school he worked at. Fannie is 82 and retired and last I heard lives in either Georgia or South Carolina with her partner. The girl Ron was up against (Janet Long) got married (not to Richard Dawson) still lives in the LA area and became a nurse. Bill Daily who was getting all hot and bothered up in the upper row was still very much married to his second wife at the time. However, they did separate about 6 months after this episode and later divorced. For those concerned, CNR and Richard Dawson always had a repartee going with each other and like teasing each other, though CNR cut a little to close at times near the end of Dawson's Match Game life at times. Getting Ron and Fannie together on a late night TV show would be funny and interesting for those into these Game Shows, but not to the 18-34 audience that watches late night TV.

Richard actually married one of the Family Feud contestants named Gretchen. Her family came on the show in April 1981 (Johnson family). Richard somehow got her phone number and called her to invite her to dinner at his place. When she didn't answer the phone for about 3 days, Richard thought she might not be interested in him. When he finally got her on the phone she could barely talk from just having her wisdom teeth removed. Afterwards, they started dating and got married 10 years later. They have a daughter named Shannon. The Family Feud video is on KZbin if you get a chance to watch it.

IN RE the show where the Big Money answer was 21 Gun Salute... did any of you pay attention to that show? Do you recall how Brett was always so willing to suggest answers. (May she RIP)? Well on that big money round Ron called Fannie first but she was stumbling for an answer. Said 21 years old. Richard said 21 skedoo. And when he called on Brett she gave the definitive answer of 21 Gun Salute. My question is why didn't she give that answer to Fannie when she saw her reaching for an answer. Ron eventually chose Brett's answer and won with it. She got a kiss from Ron, which is probably why she didn't give Fannie the answer. I thought that was so shallow of her. anyway... That was a pretty good run with Ron and Fannie. Wonder if Brett really did have a note to him from Fannie. For me Brett was kind'a meh, on the show. too loud for one, often not matching, and very hurtful at times to other guests. Esp Charles. Like the time she mentioned deodorant and Charles. And Charles had to come up with something to explain himself. Brett was just lhho. It wasn't funny it was mean spirited. __Atalanta
