I can just imagine the producers telling Dawson "We're going to have the Dallas cheerleaders on as a team, think that's okay?" and him just giggling uncontrollably for the next ten minutes.

I remember watching this as a teenager. I was so in awe of the Dallas Cowboys and their Cheerleaders. I'm even more in awe of them to this day. RIP Richard Dawson. You were the best host Family Feud ever had.

Sure do miss Richard Dawson! He was my favorite Game show host growing up. Dallas had some superb players back then and the cheerleaders were all attractive. Football had class back in those days. Wish it was that way now!

Tom Landry was coach and he demanded respect and good behavior.

Yeah we're in the Jerry Jones era now band he should have kept Landry on for a few more years even as a advisor.now Jerry has wrecked the team and he's facing a paternity suit.rip Harvey Martin.writing this in March 2022.
@@edwardmoore5325 dallas won 3 super bowls within 7 years of jerry buying the team. landry had to go...especially after how he did danny white.

I love Richard giving the "Hook 'em Horns" sign when he says, "see 'ya on the Feud".
@wolfyhound9 жыл бұрын
I'm pretty sure that's the Deaf sign for "I love you" that he does in response to a little deaf girl who sent him a letter about how she watched him every day on TV.

+WDRowlett The "Hook 'em Horns" sign is where the index and pinky fingers are spread out and the thumb is touching the middle and ring fingers. The sign language for "I love you" is where the index and pinky are straight up and the thumb is spread out. Richard is doing (or meaning to do) the latter.

He was. He even revealed in an interview that he was inspired to do this after receiving a letter from a lady early in the shows run who had a deaf daughter who somehow miraculously would dance to the show's theme when the show came on.

I was only 6 weeks old when this episode aired! Wow. I was raised a Dallas Cowboy fan. So, I only recognize Tony Dorsett, although I am sure my dad would surely tell me about the other great Cowboys here!

The Dallas cheerleaders and the Laker girls really changed how cheering and dancing was viewed in pop culture. Very interesting.

And her hair was real. Growing up as a little Melanin girl in the 1970s and a Teenager lady in the 1980s. I wanted to see more Melanin women on the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders. My opinion only,but the women were more Feminine & Elegant in the 1970s and the earlier 1980s.

1980. Is this "playoff" the first appearance of black people on the show? He kissed the white women on the mouth and kissed Terry Richardson on the cheek. Interesting.

No I don't think so. Although you have a point about the kissing.
