'Sit on it' Too bad no one from Happy Days was on the panel this episode. I know Anson Williams aka Potsie had been there a few months back.

I can't help but think that if I woulda answered Fred Astaire they all would answer Gene Kelly and vice-versa

I'd never heard of him either. According to Wikipedia, he was quite the dancer and businessman, retired from show business in 1989, and passed away in 1998.

H/H match update: ... ~~~Today's action: Another 6-to-6 tie game! But in the tie-breaker, our champion strikes out and so must spin off after winning one game and $5,600. *Today's audience match question: "_**_______** Softly"* (My thoughts: Speak, Killing Me, Talk) The celebs: Brett (Speak), Lee (Killing Me), Richard (Walk) The choice: Speak The answers: Killing Me, Walk, Speak Another new champion gets off to a great start. I imagine she'll choose Richard for the head-to-head match, but I'm less certain today. It feels like there's a chance she could opt for Brett, since she did choose Brett for the first suggestion and ended up taking that suggestion... Yikes! Time snuck up on us today! We'll have to wait until "tomorrow" to see who she chooses and how they do! ~~~Meanwhile, here's the full list of all 38 celebrities who have so far scored a H/H match in Match Game '7x (in alphabetical order): Don Adams, Jack Albertson, Morey Amsterdam, Orson Bean, Charlie Brill, Joyce Bulifant, Gary Burghoff, Jack Carter, Bert Convy, Bill Daily, Clifton Davis, Richard Dawson, Lynn Deerfield, Patti Deutsch, Ann Elder, Fannie Flagg, Rosemary Forsyth, Stu Gilliam, Elaine Joyce, Carolyn Jones, George Kennedy, Jack Klugman, Michael Landon, June Lockhart, Allen Ludden, Mary Ann Mobley, Jo Ann Pflug, Charles Nelson Reilly, Madlyn Rhue, Isabel Sanford, Brett Somers, Kaye Stevens, Trish Stewart, Loretta Switt, Richard Thomas, Bobby Van, Betty White, and Jo Anne Worley. ~~~And just for fun, here's the *old leader board* as it stood at the end of *episode 447* : TIE: Orson Bean - 100% (3 wins in 3 attempts). TIE: Joyce Bulifant - 100% (3 wins in 3 attempts). Gary Burghoff - 80% (4 wins in 5 attempts). Jo Anne Worley - 75% (3 wins in 4 attempts). Betty - 50% (15 wins in 30 attempts). Fannie - 46.7% (7 wins in 15 attempts). Charles - 45.7% (16 wins in 35 attempts). Jo Ann Pflug - 44.4% (8 wins in 18 attempts). Brett - 36.7% (11 wins in 30 attempts). Richard - 36.6% (85 wins in 232 attempts). Bert - 33.3% (5 wins in 15 attempts). ~~~Finally, here's our *standing leader board* showing the 11 celebs with at least 3 H/H matches, ranked by accuracy: (An asterisk before a celebrity's name signifies that she has "retired" from the show and her H/H stats are now complete.) (For tied scores, I consider the one with the greater number of matches to be higher; if the matches are equal, the celeb who first achieved that score goes on top.) Orson Bean - 100% (4 wins in 4 attempts). TIE: (*)Jo Anne Worley - 75% (3 wins in 4 attempts). TIE: Joyce Bulifant - 75% (3 wins in 4 attempts). Gary Burghoff - 71.4% (5 wins in 7 attempts). Betty - 50.0% (19 wins in 38 attempts). Charles - 48.6% (34 wins in 70 attempts). Fannie - 48.4% (15 wins in 31 attempts). Jo Ann Pflug - 44.4% (8 wins in 18 attempts). Brett - 42.3% (30 wins in 71 attempts). Richard - 42.2% (315 wins in 746 attempts). Bert Convy - 33.3% (5 wins in 15 attempts). *These stats include every head-to-head match from episode 1 through 1109, excluding the missing/damaged/unavailable episodes: 31, 32, 33, 311, 312, 313, 324, 325, 645, 910, 1024, 1025, 1026, 1027, 1028, 1029, and 1030. *Also, note that episode 849 was never produced. (These stats do, however, include the H/H results of missing episode 968 as those results were revealed in episode 969. Note: There was no H/H in missing episode 1035, as we learn in 1036.)

Interesting to hear Gene say he and other staff sat in an office testing questions. I wonder how much time he spent working on the show.

Interesting how many contestants were young, good-looking women. I wonder how much time Gene and Richard spent working on them?!
@ts.elliot5870 Жыл бұрын
@@lisaforte1575The Stars couldn't interact with the contestants. There were scandals in the 50s and 60s were contestants were given answers in return for favors and it ruined careers. There wasn't supposed to be any interaction with the celebrities before or after the show. There were staff people who shepherded the contestants through the process.

What was it with Gene Rayburn? No screaming, no whistling, no snapping of fingers, no gum-chewing, no eating, fix that key light, don't [blank] until I tell you to [blank], you rang the bell too soon/too late, etc. etc. etc. He really ruled with an iron fist over his little MG kingdom, didn't he?
