Chris Chen Actually, since the horns are coming from the inside and skin is pretty opaque, I just thought the horns were enough to bruise the skin from the inside. Either that or the monsterfication actually starts to turn his skin blue already, but that wouldn’t make since Zero Two skin looks pretty pale. The headband over her horns probably nullifies that though... I’m just saying maybe we all shouldn’t jump to conclusions just yet.

this scene is a top tier scene in my opinion. As i was watching this i remember thinking to myself, "it would be romantic if they just touch horns" AND THEN THEY TOUCHED HORNS. This show had so many scenes like this in my opinion. In previous shows i would see the protagonist and id think, bro why dont you just do this or do that. ok so imma help you if you are sad about the ending. if you watch the end credit/outro you see ichigo/zero two and others in a future city. and as we know that is what zero two and hiro laid the foundation for wich means all of the squad 13 g member or a majority got reincarnated. i hope that helped. my favorite anime too btw.

The thing is that in the story of the Red Oni and the Blue Oni, the Blue Oni disappears to allow the Red Oni to be with the humans. Now luckily, we have a more true blue oni that isn't Hiro, which is the Klaxohime. The blue oni generally has only one horn, and the Klaxosaur princess has that going on, so if they follow the tale of the Red Oni and the Blue Oni, that might be what spares Hiro from that kind of tragedy. While he is his own type of Oni, blue but with two horns, similar to Zero Two's. That aside, Hiro did really fit the Blue Oni personality archetype even before he grew horns.
