i went here because i'm looking for matchless DC 30 vids because i just tried this model on my old Pod X3 Live and i really loved it! so glad to see that the helix's DC 30 version is still clean, clear and responsive!

Every time you put out one of these videos, the amp in question becomes my favorite model. This Matchless sounds amazing and I just had so much fun dialing it in. Thanks!

This is the problem for me too - it's getting stupid that every amp I deep dive on is becoming one of the best amps I've tried in the Helix ha!

I’m just here for my obligatory please make a pod go patch comment. Actually, I’ve made a few matchless profiles and it’s one of my favourite amps in there. But until now I hadn’t cranked the drive to 10. Really pleased with the results! Thanks for the idea.

Dude!! It’s decided i’m keeping the hx stomp for ever … i was really close to just get a multi effect pedal and sell it but with these amp videos you have been doing you helped me so much to get more out of the hx stomp. I hated the idea of using IR all the time but now i think i can do without to get a satisfying tone. Thanks a lot man!

The Matchless/Matchstick is one of my favorite Amps in my HX Stomp. It seems to sound great at every setting, and is surprisingly versatile and responsive. It was useful to see the Manual in the video. Thanks

Thanks for this video John! I use the Matchless amps for quite a few of my presets in my cover band. They always sound great and accept pedal patches really well. I may have to go back and tweak a few settings. I mainly use a Strat. Thanks again!

I LOVE the Matchless model! But I prefer to use the “matchstick jumped” model because it uses both channels in one model. 😁 I can blend them or use snapshots to switch between channels without having to use more than one preset or without using a lot of DSP. The Jumped model is even more versatile (imo) but a little more finicky to dial in. Great video!
@mikec31043 жыл бұрын
I've just started experimenting with a similar workflow and it really works great with snapshots (esp changing the amp eq with gain changes.)

I really love my Kemper Profiles of this amp, as well as my preset from the Helix LT. Looking forward to how it pans out in the FM3 tomorrow. Regardless, the Matchless HC30, DC30 and SC30 aren't regarded so highly for no reason.

I've got to get an HX stomp. Best live sound I ever heard was a guitarist in a blues/funk band at a pub gig using a Strat and a Matchless amp. Incredible. Are these manuals included with the Stomp?

Ive been enjoying setting these up on my stomp. I'd love to dial in the tone the Edge uses in Bullet the Blue sky - really gritty sounding - I think its a RAT into an AC30

Maybe it is true what many people say about JM, that he isn't a great blues guitarist. He may just be a great using his amps to reverberate. A similar debate went on about Hendrix whether he was great at guitar playing or great at effects. Of course, after years of analysis, we now know Hendrix was great at playing guitar and (not just using but) skillfully playing amp effects. Hendrix was also a great composer and studio producer. JM is a good composer, singer, amp affectionado and great at using reverb effects in conjuction with great amps. But him belonging on any list of great guitar players, I'm not sure of. I think he rates himself as a great guitar player way out of proportion. He would best be content with the enormous popularity of his singing and song writing and allow guitar players who are great be such because the milleanial public is not able to distinguish between great and mediocre guitar playing. It's like if Beethoven were alive to open a Stones concert, the audience would say, "so what". Or if the Beatles were still around and young and could play live the great stuff they recorded in the studio and opened for rapper Travis Scott, the audience would be deaft to it. And if Travis Scott opened for a 1970 Stones concert, no one would be impressed. But a couple of great singers, one being JM, like to pretend they are also great guitarists, and I don't know why.
