The UFC title picture seems to move quick in most weight classes, so I decided to match the previous title challenger against the future title challenger in every weight class rather than just involving the champion in all of these fights. Some fights on this list are actually super intirguing, wheras some we have seen before and would probably go the same way.

I think Merab would probably ragdoll Chito but he ain't submitting Chito in 2. He's got almost no submission threat, and Chito doesn't have wrestling. If Merab couldn't finish Yan after all that activity and wearing him down and he still couldn't hold him down in the fifth he's not subbing anyone at the top.

I think dp would win. Poiriers takedown defense has improved immensely and his striking is leagues better than Arman, same with his Jiu jitsu. Arman legit has not faced a good strike yet.

@@zarifinator1327Arman has much smoother and more explosive takedown entries than Islam though. Arman has never failed a takedown against someone not named Islam or Gamrot (both insane wrestlers). Islam just rawdogs takedowns and can usually get it through sheer strength, but Arman sets the takedowns up really well. Dustin is also susceptible to ground and pound when he gets taken down. I also think Arman is much faster on the feet and could piece him up from the outside while avoiding pocket range for the most part

@@elgreco998 well Arman never failed a takedown against anyone not named Gamrot or Islam because Charles is completely fine with being taken down and Beneil got finished in like 30 seconds lmao. Poirier has extremely underrated takedown defense, he managed to stuff Chandler multiple times and Chandler is way more explosive than Arman, Charles couldn't take him down once and Islam could only take him down against the cage except for that leg whip in the 5th round. just cuz he got dominated by khabib doesn't mean shit. Also Arman's striking is not good enough to hang with Poirier on the feet, he couldn't knock Charles down (which every decent striker does) and he hasn't fought a good striker yet. Also, Poirier had literally never been finished by gnp, not even khabib could finish him that way and his gnp is leagues better than Arman, Poirier knows how to get out of that position, if your gonna finish him on the ground it's by sub and Arman doesn't have the Jiu Jitsu for that

Arman has had his ways in the takedowns with pretty much everyone who isn’t at the absolute elite cornerstone of MMA. Islam, on the other hand, fails a lot of takedowns against even primary strikers. 2. Chandler is a moron who just does whatever in his fights to get the fans cheering, so his takedowns are not really the benchmark for determining good TDD. Benoit Saint Denis was having his way with Dustin for a whole round, taking his back, putting him in crucifix, mat returning him, etc. Arman is a much better wrestler than Saint-Denis and it isn’t even close. Charles also doesn’t have amazing wrestling, he’s a guard-heavy jiu jitsu fighter. 3. Arman’s striking is definitely good enough to not only hang with Porier but outland or even knock him down. He outstruck Charles over 3:1 in significant strikes and has outstruck every one he has fought besides Ismagulov (who outlanded him by 1 one strike on the feet). Ismagulov, by the way, is an insanely good kickboxer who (if not for the Arman loss) would probably be in the Top 5, outstriking nearly everybody. 4. He doesn’t get finished by GnP but he has never faced someone with the GnP of Arman (except maybe Khabib who opted to go for subs instead). Arman has the best GnP game in the UFC right now. Chandler had DP in bottom guard and picked apart his face. And that’s Chandler.

If he took beneil down at will or something like that then that would say something about his wrestling being really good, but he had trouble taking down every elite opponent he's tried to take down except for Charles who doesn't care about getting taken down. 2. So chandler having horrible fight IQ means that his wrestling isn't good? I never said anything about poirier submitting him, I just said that poirier was able to stuff his takedowns multiple times and Chandler is more explosive than Arman, which is undoubtedly true and he basically used all his energy to take him down lmao. And dustin barely even took benoit serious that fight lmao, he pulled guillotine like 6 times and was throwing comedy wind up punches and still knocked him tf out in the second round lmao. He did not do that against Islam and he wouldn't do that against Arman either. 3. Nope, Armans striking is unproven af, if he fought fiziev and outstruck him or something then that would be something, but the guy has literally not fought a good striker yet. Maybe if he out strikes Islam on the feet then he could probably beat poirier but the dude couldn't even drop Charles who has been dropped by literally every other good striker he faced on his title run lmao. And Ismagulov is not top 5 material lmao stop it. 4. Chandler did not "Pick apart his face" lmao, go rewatch the fight, chandler was getting elbowed to hell and almost got subbed with a triangle by poirier off his back, then gave up the position entirely. And khabibs gnp is much much better than Armans

because of izzy's experience, i dont think you can completely count him out and say the same exact thing will happen 10 out of 10 times. obviously i would lean more towards and bet on strickland if i did bet money, but i think izzy would make it closer. plus he said he would "come for heads" and despite how cringe that might be considering his last performance, i do believe that he isnt waiting around anymore.
