That's part of the reason they use the aramith balls with all the dots. If you play pool you should be able to tell what spin is on alot of the shots.

These heavily shortened highlights vids are weird.You never get a feel for the match. Live editing so we often miss the next shot. Unecessary graphics between change of cameras. Most of the vid is misses which makes the players look much worse than they are. Great that they used commentators who actually know what they're talking about on this occasion instead of the clueless Brummie and Geordie mental patient!

I don't know if you are aware, but Judd Trump, Gary Wilson and Martin Gould tried 9-ball. They didn't impress much. Two very different disciplines.

Love Rollie, but the best consolation to these truncated highlight videos is not having to listen to him very much. He might have to go. Slowly learning that live commentary on a match is quite a skill, and Team Europe is better than us at that as well (save Jeremy Jones). Long road until we're back on top again in any facet of this game it appears, sheesh!...

Nah if they look for them, they will find talent. There is a lot of semi retired or retired pro that have great insight and talent. Tony Robles and mark Wilson are some that come to my mind

I think Rollie could become a great commentator to bring the game better to the average sports fan who hasn't seen that much of pro pool in TV so far (considering his own entertaining videos in the years before). At least I see here more potential that in snooker, because the game is much more international when looking at the number of nations who have top pros.

@@valdemarpena8378 I do enjoy Mark Wilson a lot. He does a fantastic job. Tony is ok for me. But something about Rollie just doesn’t work. He tries to be too funny or casual and it just comes off awkward. Very hard to listen to, but I love the videos that he’s done. He should stick to that. When Karl or Chris Melling or Jayson Shaw or Albin of Alex Lely or Neils are in the commentary booth, it’s almost equally enjoyable as the match that’s being played. Just pure quality when they’re commentating. It’s even rough when Billy or Skyler are in there. We just can’t do it right it seems.
