That's an impressive background! I'm a " ham & egger" in pool but I never liked 9 ball. Playing safe was called " rat pool" and not a healthy thing to do. I'm 74 and played 8 ball or straight pool! Growing up in Newark NJ exposed me to some great hustlers! Look and learn, play and learn more!

Wow. What a finish. Don’t read this if you don’t want to know. Kyle removed his glove when Shane shot the 2. Kyle put his glove back on when he saw Shane leave himself bad on the 4. Kyle removed his glove again when he left Shane a shot on the 4. Shane runs to the seven, scratches, and Kyle is scrambling to get his glove back on. Hilarious

Shane scratched several times on the break, and Kyle made 2 golden breaks, and it was still a hill-hill match. Shane scratched in the side getting routine position from the 7 to the 8 in the final rack. Kyle played well, and is clearly excellent, but the match was intense because of the crazy number of flukes, not because it was some master-class shootout.
@jamesdavis87319 ай бұрын
Exactly, this was more a matter of SVB just making stupid mistakes. I posted earlier that the scratch by SVB in the last rack was inexcusable. It was routine position and absolutely no need to even get close to the long rail.
@tjblackartist9 ай бұрын
And on one of the fluke scratches by Shane it left a relatively easy 2-9 combo. Another easy game for Kyle. So 3 games total were very easy wins for Kyle. That’s pool folks! Shane is sore I’m sure but he also understands that that’s pool folks! It’s happened to me a million times. Wish I could get on the other end of that for once. I’ve had to grind out every win in every tournament and face bad luck against opponents who get lucky. 🤷♂️. Maybe one day my luck will turn. Haha. I won a few tournaments last year. Have played only two tournaments this year due to health issues. Hopefully next year I’ll be able to enter a lot more tournaments. God bless y’all.

The mistake at the end by Shane was shocking. He could have taken a bit more time with the shot.
@davidparker84759 ай бұрын
@@jamesdavis8731 Many would disagree. For example, two scratches on the break were kicked in. These aren't preventable of predictable. Add two golden breaks, well that's 4 games which can make a difference.
@jamesdavis87319 ай бұрын
@@davidparker8475 It doesn't matter. Shane still missed easy shots and easy position play. It has been a habit of his this year. He is a better player than he has showed most of the year. The mistakes he has made would not be made by most amateurs.

I love SVB as well, but you can't say that he's the best at the tournament scene. Efren has won tons of tournaments as well, and he caught Efren, Earl, Django, Mika, Socquet and all these legends on their twilight years. You can't tell me SVB can beat those players in their primes man.

@jamesdavis87319 ай бұрын
Jeremy Jones seems blind to the fact that SVB is simply not the same player he has been in the past. This was a super shaky performance by SVB. Jones says SVB has to be happy with how he hit the seven in the last rack! You cannot be serious. That was a three ball run out that most mediocre amateurs could have run out. There was absolutely no excuse for SVB even getting close to the long rail.

You are correct. That is why I’m saying it would be almost impossible to compare Evern to SVB. Both are dominant in their own times but I couldn’t say who is the better player straight up. SVB still has several years to add trophies. Regardless as to who is the best I really enjoy watching both of them. I think Efern has better focus. SVB seems to lose concentration at times. That may not be the right word but he certainly will miss on a ball that he normally makes with ease.

In terms of Skills, the only shot that SVB does better than PRIME EFREN is his BREAK and his JUMPS. But other than that, nothing more. Last week we've witnessed the greatest pool match ever played, Ko Ping Chung vs. Aloysius Yapp. This match here, again, is amongst the very best too BUT for very different reasons. No spoilers here but this match is PROOF of getting rid of the shot clock. This match was "nail biting." How often can you say that about pool? The safety battle was insane. It would not have been the same with that annoying beeping clock causing players to make hasty decisions. Get some snacks and drinks, buckle in, and enjoy.

NO no no. The shot clock is needed. Period. This was a very sloppy match. I guarantee you neither of the players thought they played well. SVB was a comedy of errors. If either SVB or Amoroto had played a top level player in form they would have gotten run over.

The only arguement the could make is SVB won more US open than EBR. I say look and at the Derby City Titles these two has, SVB would not even come close. Efren won every major tournament there is. SVB should have more US open titles cuz he lives in the US. He has all the luxury to win it. Efren changed the way the game is being played today, EBR was way ahead of this time with inferior tools and he has done it all. Go ask google what titles efren won and compare it to SVb.

You put them both on a table with bar cues and Efren would spank him. He is a mathematical genius on a pool table and can out-kick, bank, masse, etc. They dont call him the "Magician" for nothing.
