I have the Milwaukee insider ratchet and I can give you some feedback on it. It is fast. It has a lot more torque than the other ones. Maybe to much in some cases. I think it will be easy to snap off the smaller bolts if you are not careful. The slim sockets that comes with it are nice. What I don't like.... I planned on making it my main ratchet over my older non-Fuel version and use the 3/8" normal socket adapter. The problem is that adapter does not stay in the ratchet when you change sockets. You pull the socket off and the adapter comes with it, then you have to pull the adapter from the socket and put it back in to the ratchet and then put the new socket on the adapter. That just slows me down to much so my older non-Fuel is still my go to.

I recently picked the pass through up. I’m not going to say who I bought it from because now I don’t want him to get in trouble. I’m a big fan. Being able to go from bit, 1/4, 3/8, or the sockets themselves with a really long and slim ratchet but it still having good power is awesome.

The vim "robogrips" look to be the exact same, I have a pair of craftsman professional robo grip in my hand and they both have the same oval cut outs between the rivets, rivets are all in the same spots, are they claiming to use a tougher step for the plates or what?

Koon, Question on the Mac RBRT, since the man himself talked to you about them. I think you will get my question. The open are they setup to go in one direction ? If you want to go the other direction you have to flip the wrench so the teeth/turning groove are going in the direction they are designed for ?

I'm not a mechanic by trade, but this new system "thing" sounds to be a game changer. I've turned a few wrenches in my time and have a large collection of snap on, matco, Cornwell, old craftsman and I wouldn't sell them for the world. They will be passed down to my son and or grand kids.

My matco rep had the insider ratchet a few weeks ago. Not sure if he's still carrying them now though. Anywhere you use a ratcheting wrench is a possible time to use the insider. Sometimes those extra deep sockets don't fit. I just got the max flex pro a few months ago and love it. Great size, super fast, love the topology view. The 4.0 is just too big. Hope the new one is more reasonably sized.

If I got the insider I’d just use it all the time as my main electric ratchet as it covers what the normal electric ratchet can do plus the benefit of the pass thru. Only issue I’d see is I have so many specialty sockets and that wont work with it plus idk if you can add an extension to those insider socket/ratchet.

Everyone who has bought the insider ratchet likes it, with a couple complaints like every tool...people who haven't bought it, hate on it...the insider ratchet is currently only available with the sockets, so it's matco dealers loss, period...a customer who buys that ratchet, might buy the 1/4" adv swivel sockets with it , and that's a $7-800 sale, lost...not everyone wants to buy a 1/4 and a 3/8 extended high speed separately...it should be available for the customers who want it, although its now backordered so the excitement will be over soon, especially with the " i told u so, haters" who don't even own the tool😂😂

I changed the spark plugs in mothers Expedition 5.4 3 valve. Sure enough just like normal three of them broke. I pulled out the Lisle kit and got them out with a few choice words for the 5.4 designer. I also put new coil packs on it just to make the job a little better because it’s my mothers SUV. Well I was one coil shy and had to go back under the hood a few days later to put that one new coil on. No problem quick easy job. Now I had driven the truck a few times after replacing the spark plugs and 7 coils and everything was great the engine was smooth as silk. When I went to start it to back it out of the garage as soon as I hit the key it locked up with a bang. The damn thing threw a rod!!!! I had to call my mom & dad to tell them the Expedition was dead and try to explain what happened. I felt sick to my stomach even though it wasn’t any that I did it was just incredibly bad timing! Damn a 5.4 3 valve !!!

Now i work at a body shop and i use my 1/4 high speed all the time i still have the regular fuel 3/8 and just dont use it alot but i have seen where a long neck would be handy but i dont want to be stuck with buying just one size drive. I'd imagine the autel partnership guess is accurate. I'm not sure what matco scanner they bought but 8-9 years ago a body shop I worked at bought one. They couldn't stand it but I'm guessing a lot of that was the owners son. He and the rep had no clue how it worked. Something like that should come with a knowledgeable rep stopping by for a day or two to walk through it. Since the snap on costs $5,000 and my couple hundred dollar foxwell will tell me things the snap on won't I feel like the price is already built in. Don't get me wrong, the snap on gave me information the foxwell wouldn't but look at the price difference. I think the autel mx808 is probably the best value for your above average shade tree guy or small shop owner working on vehicles that have exited their dealership service life (5-8 or 10 years old). Anything older than that is probably best serviced by some random dude with a code reader from harbor freight or your uncle that was a mechanic before those fancy computers took over.

I don’t really like my 4.0 it’s slow and not very easy to use maybe the new one will be better so I can trade it in

That pass through is useless. It’s an old concept that didn’t sell well when it originally came out. I’ll never waste money on it.
