Good points made in this video, and it really showed how good of a Matco dealer Michael is. As mechanics we pay the premium for the tool man to come by every week and have what we need or replace tools that need replaced. Just a thought about your comment about the gauges a vehicle should have. On modern aircraft, they have what is called a Glass Cockpit. All the gauges have been replaced with screens. All the gauges are still there on the screens. Now, modern vehicles all come with a small screen, it wouldn't take much to have a page in the software that you display all the gauges you wanted on the standard screen.

i think the air filter on an 05 - 07 focus is funnier than the ns trans filter. also, automotive engineers seem to take into consideration how to make doing maintenance frustrate the customer to the point where they pay for the maintenance to be done. the engineers that can make it such a pain in the ass to the point that shops won't deal with it leaving taking it to the dealership is the only option, those engineers get bonuses

@stever58874 жыл бұрын
It's not that people are "just lazy" that a car's engine oil or transmission fluid can go low or to zero over time. People today just don't know they're supposed to check them at least once a week and keep up with fluid levels. Owner manuals have gotten so big and complicated that most people don't open them until they have to change a tire. It's not just 80 y.o. women, but people across all age groups that haven't been taught by their dads or had a course in basic auto maintenance (in high school or elsewhere) to know what to look for and how often. You're not expected to know as much as a mechanic and be able to fix it yourself, but you've got a piece of machinery that is the second most-expensive item (after a house) that you'll invest your hard-earned money in. You should at least know how to check fluid levels and take it to a service mechanic to perform needed work to make it last as long as possible. That's just simple economics and common sense.
