Did you know that you can simply load Ardupilot onto the board via iNav? When you go to the Ardupilot site to download your firmware, just choose the '.bl hex' version of the firmware you need. The .bl hex files include the bootloader needed for iNav. Then hold the bootloader button down whilst connecting to iNav, then choose 'Load firmware locally', and browse to the bl hex file you downloaded. You can then load it directly onto the matek F765 from iNav. Just make sure to check the 'full chip erase' option before flashing. Once it is flashed your finished with iNav, simply plug into Ardupilot like normal and your good to go. Great boards these F765's, I have a couple in use on fixed wings at the moment, they make the build so much neater, rather than having separate bec's, camera switchers, osd modules, and current sensors. The whole lot built in. I have used them for a year now and have not found any issues with them. Certainly great value for money, and nice to see you showing one off Ian.

Didn't know about the STM32CubeProgrammer software, thanks for sharing that. I always used INAV or Betaflight Configurator (cross platform) to do initial Arudplane/Copter flashing. Nice to know there is another option. Looks like you've been colour grading your output. Nice! :-)

Haha Phil yea I had too on this as the back end was done 4 months ago and I had to film the opened this week, you will see a LOT of continuity issues. I have also got lockdown fat onboard as well ;)

@Mad's Tech, "I will cover actual Arduplane config in the next video. " Can you please put a link to that in this video's info? I can't seem to find it in your playlists. This one was very helpful and I am at the next stage of my F765 FC install. Cheers!

you can also use betaflight or inav to load up ardupilot firmware - much easier process btw

I go this FC and I love it, if you use Dji air unit with a battery just for the air unit make sure you use a common ground, tha meas, the positive of the extra battery to the air unit and the negative to the extra battery to the air unit and the FC in any ground available, otherwise you DJI OSD will not show the Hacks. Just heads up.

Can anyone recommend a beginners flight controller for fixed wing that supports DJI fpv?

Rctestflite recommends pixhawk? He says they are cheap and work. I always buy matek boards. I heard 405 and 411 are all time favorites . Why I went with them.

Ian, please also configure the F765 for Frsky Telemetry, as I believe the F765 can support Frsky Telemetry without a converter cable (if you can get it working, as I've been struggling). Thx
@pjpankras3 жыл бұрын
Correct, you do not need a converter cable if you use frsky telemetry with the 765. I have it working like that on a rover with the 765

Nice one Mate, do you know when arduplane plane 4.1 will be officially released? As that's the only version supports dji fpv. I tried it on a mini talon but when I switched to stabilised mode plane goes nose diving. Although it shows to be level on the bench!! Tried deleting and reinstalling many times still same result. Cheers
