I USED to think that, but then I grew up and started paying attention to his monologues: THEY'RE NOT FUNNY. Some of the guests are hilarious, like Jeff Fox-worthy. His TV show was not as funny as he alone on stage was, or with the other three in the group, Bill Engvall, Larry the cable guy, and Ron White. Pay attention to the audience next time you listen to Johnny's show. Having Don Rickles on didn't help, either.

Does anyone know if the special Carson show filmed in England, where the show and network set up a very elaborate joke on Johnny. It was hysterical!! The premise was Johnny was to meet very “important” English people of the BBC to try to produce a program for British audiences. The English moguls would speak to Johnny and would say words that made no sense yet were spoken with strong upper class English diction. Johnny had no idea what they were saying to him in our shared language and his facial expressions were precious and hysterical to all of the viewers. I would love to see this episode again!!
