It's a and e sound

Thank you for your kind words! It's not uncommon for children to get confused between similar sounds like "a" and "e" while building words. Here are a few tips that might help: Isolation of Sound: Work with your child on isolating the sounds by saying the words slowly and emphasizing the vowel sound. For example, “c-a-t” vs. “p-e-t.” You can also use pictures or objects that clearly represent words with "a" and "e" sounds and practice identifying and saying the vowel sound together. Word Sorting: Create a sorting activity where your child places words into two categories-those with the "a" sound and those with the "e" sound. This helps reinforce the difference. Repetition and Practice: Repetition is key. Regular practice with simple, short words will help solidify the sounds in your child's mind. Use of Sandpaper Letters: If you have access to sandpaper letters, you can trace the letters "a" and "e" while saying the sounds out loud. The tactile experience can help reinforce the differences. Phonetic Games: Incorporate fun phonetic games that focus on distinguishing these vowel sounds. Games can make learning feel less stressful and more engaging. Remember, consistency and patience are important. Over time, with practice, your child will become more confident in distinguishing these sounds. If you need more specific activities or guidance, feel free to ask!

Another amazing video. I wish I had discovered them sooner. I’ve noticed you’re using the print font LMA rather than cursive. I see a lot of confusing information about which should be introduced first, the print or the cursive letters. Do you recommend introducing the print font first? It make sense to me as that’s what children see in books and the whole point of this is to teach them to read. But what about writing then? You recommend in this video to use paper over a pink sentence strip or dry erase markers for children to write on top of that pink strip. So is it alright to teach writing in print first and then after they have a better pencil grip to teach cursive writing too?

There are different views on this... in Indonesia we start with print. But many start with cursive.

Thank you. What should be the sequence of teaching sounds? Which go first: vowel sounds or consonant sounds? In either what is the order?
@SunshineTeachersTraining3 жыл бұрын
There is no specific order. Just make sure not to teach similar looking or sounding letters together.
@nationalmontessoricouncil2 жыл бұрын
I think vowel sounds are more confusing if we introduce them altogether. So its better to go with combination of letters

Hi🙂 when is the ideal time for a child to start writing?
@SunshineTeachersTraining3 жыл бұрын
It is really subjective o your child's fine motor skills. If your child has had a lot of fine motor activity and thus has strong fingers then you can start encouraging them to use a pencil at 2.5 years. More structured writing activities a around 3. I am not a fan of tracing letters and lines - something fun and creative.

What is the difference between large and small movable alphabet? Do you need to buy both for homeschool? Which one would you prefer?
@SunshineTeachersTraining Жыл бұрын
The LMA is used for the Pink and Blue Series and the SMA is used for the Green Series. If you are homeschooling, you might want to try and make the LMA rather than buy it. Its quite big and bulky and I am sure its pricey too. But if you are looking to buy then definitely you can manage with the LMA.
