The Australia promoted here isn't the true Australia anymore. Our suburbs and cities are full of Asian, Indian, Arab, African and Pacific Islanders but the only minorities I recall seeing in this promo were a few token Aboriginals. They didn't show the dry sun burnt national parks and forests, the raging bushfires, the polluted beaches, the run-down over-crowded roads and public transport. The thousands of homeless people sleeping rough on our city streets. The thugs, gangs and crime. I love Australia and am a proud Aussie but even I would love to visit the Australia depicted in this clip.

The Australian Tourist board only stopped airing this advert 5 days ago. UNBELIEVABLE. Over three weeks ago the country was at the point of no return. Residents knew weeks before that this was no normal fire season. And the government kept their head buried in the sand. I pretty disappointed that Kylie didn't demand the advert be taken down before Christmas. Has she even given a donation like the American P!nk or Aussie Nicole Kidman? They both gave $500,000.

I live in Sydney, there is minimal smoke now although the fires are still burning in places across the state, our Rural Fire Service Volunteers have put their lives on the line to keep us safe. It is still a beautiful country and well worth a visit.

I was initially thinking it was funny and well made and would probably be a fairly successful advert in the UK.
