A big point in this video is that math is sequential. What you talk about today (and hopefully learn) will be used tomorrow and that will be use the next day, etc. Human capacity to remember is limited (well for me at least). That means if you go a long time without practicing what has been learned it may be forgotten. So some practice years after learning any topic may be necessary.

When asked what can be done to learn Mathematics I suggest the following: Algebra and other areas of Mathematics are all about PATTERNS. The more patterns you can recognize, the easier the topic seems. When I first encountered these patterns I would write them in large print on a sheet of paper and tack it to a cork board close to my study area. Then I could quickly refer to the patterns without having to page through my book. With practice they eventually stuck. Practice takes time. Are you willing to put in the time? The video adds to these comments quite elegantly!

The best two pieces of advice for studying Maths in my opinion are: 1. Recall, recall, recall, don't just recognise. Make sure you're able to recall (definitions, steps, principles, methods, techniques, concepts, reasons, explanations, etc) and not simply recognise that you've seen them before. The application "Anki" is excellent for this. 2. Most people don't realise how much time learning Maths requires: it's a lot. Expect to be spending entire days, 6 days a week, adding up thousands of study hours before becoming decent at Maths.

I used to pretty much hate math at school. It was years later before a spark in my brain came to be; a spark for mathematics that is. First of all teachers do not usually teach mathematics the right way. Students do not get a real grip or understand the underlying mechanisms at action. There needs to be deeper explanations, not just given formulas and "tactics". I'm not blaming anyone specifically but I think this is how it is. This video is pretty self explanatory and anyone who thinks about how to study math will easily come up with these arguments. However there's so much more to math. Mathematics is a deep almost like a game which, when understood, gives pleasure. It's the language of everything around you - and more. I would like to say that people should get more enthusiastic about mathematics in general. Don't deal it as a dry subject. Rather the opposite.

You know, the best thing about a failed test is the valuable information you get from it. I generally fail most of them in the beginning and in the end when it's time for course exam. I usually pass, BECAUSE I CHECKED WHAT I DID WRONG. Keep at it bro!
