They don't consider the conditions he plays in, math can describe this but it will be the same if he plays against cones because of their conditions and they also don't consider physics, field conditions, ball, shoes, what makes it easier, remember math can be theoretical but when you adapt your model to different conditions that's what makes the different results appear, for example in the 60s when the fields, the balls were bad and made the movements more rigid, there were no yellow and red cards and shoes didn't allow to move as fast and smooth and fouls were more common then things change and you won't be able to witness a play like Messi's against Bilbao, you can analyse when Di Stefano scored a goal with his heel, Maradona scoring a goal without an angle against Juve, Pele dribbling Marzukievich without touching the ball or the passes with the old offside rule that made it harder to locate your teammate with respect to the defensive line and giving an assist was much more common. difficult, I think the study is biased towards messi.
