This whole podcast had everything us males in nz should be doing more of with our friends, talking about old stories, having laughs but also chatting about anxiety/depression . Conversations like this is a must for us.

JK walks the talk. For Macca to feel he could go to him back then shows why he is important in men's mental health now. Not only that but he adds to the absolute hilarity of Macca and Ridgy. Those show's were absolutely brilliant.

As a Manly fan we were privileged to have Ridgey as one of us in the 90s. Without him, we don't win the 1996 Grand Final. Not just his goal kicking which was top class, but his professionalism and competitiveness pushed his team mates to be better.
@skintrader100Ай бұрын
Yes. The way he would organize the team from fullback was invaluable. Did the same for the warriors and kiwis.

This was the best episode yet Ric. Awesome to listen to the guys talk about their careers and the modern game but to talk about, and accept, their challenges with mental health breaks down barriers for all people suffering through the same issues. This cant be praised enough. Kudos to Tom Robinson as well. Was always a fan of him and am very proud he's finding his own path after rugby.

Grew up watching macca and ridgey during the golden days and man such a trip to see them both together again talking about their backstrories of their carrers , honestly need to bring them back. Also sir john kerwin giving macca advice on anxiety and depression just class...nowadays people can talk freely about it and help will be there but man gotta understand back then men had to be harder than rocks and the fact sir JK came out speak about it help others during a time when men cant cry kind of mentality was just and still class. Hoping for another episode to see these guys again.

I hated Elles and Rigde when I was younger, but having grown in experience and wisdom as I aged I've learnt were not all the same and that these fellas actually bought us all a wealth of entertainment on and off the feild ... John Kirwian is just a legend who gave me the strength to face my own mental health issues in my late 20s which literally saved my life and for that I am eternally grateful.

This lived up to the hype but not the way I expected. I have never been so riveted to a podcast than this one it had everything. Laughs. Perspective. Retrospect. Insight. Great yarns. A greedy Ric. 😂😂 I love the Sportcafe Sir JK he is so laid back and in his Spielberg productions persona. I love it. Ridgey being on was so awesome. The chat about the sudden fallout of him and Zinny was absolutely amazing. Hopefully Zinny sees this and realizes Ridgey did that out of embarrassment and not ego. His clear respect for Ric gives me the eyebrow raising impression of how much Ric is actually respected amongst the boys. Even with the digs Ric receives. This episode was an eyeopener for me as a big Sportcafe fan. And it was awesome. Best SC Pod. 🙏🙏

But my goodness he was physically huge compared to others !... ha.. five months later and 10kgs lighter still big in League terms.... fine man and great 7 in rugby..... lucky to have watched club footy with him and M Jones.... last 15 minutes only two players duelling it out .. and not many could hang with the iceman...

I think Leigh and Ric chimed in perfectly, kudos to them both! The three Rugby/League Stars had the most in-house stories to tell but they, L and R, also had well timed banter and disruption. The whole poddy's a blast from the past, the younger years to the present, just brilliant. In 12 years time we'll be watching this again, all on hologram (on a 0.001nm chip.)
