You want to see a kids show with hidden mature themes? Winx Club as so many it's insane and btw, I'm not talking about Fate: The Winx Saga, Kim talking about the REAL winx. Although it's an awesome show. And also another show, that introduced the mistreating of others because their different is Monster High specifically Ghouls Rule, but anyway, those are some great shows/movies if you are looking to find kid shows with hidden adult/mature themes!

Context: Sofia is around 8 in the start of the show and by the end of it she around 12. Her mom Miranda who was a shoemaker and King Roland (Amber and James' dad) fell in love and married which is how Sofia became a princess overnight. Amber and James are twins (very Sharpay and Ryan vibes), Amber was pretty spoiled and bratty at the very beginning her character arc is one of the best I've ever seen. She and Cedric (their royal sorcerer) are the best written characters in the whole show. Just trust the process, it's so worth it. James is generally pretty nice but he can be a bit stubborn and reckless but they're all literal kids so. You should really check out the whole show. Even tho it's technically a Disney Junior show, I personally think it's THE BEST Disney Show ever, Tangled the Series is close but still. It also has something that's very rare for a children's show, which is that it actually has a lot of lore so that if you miss an episode you would not get what's going on, especially in the later seasons (it has 4 seasons). It also has some Marvel level worldbuilding and it binds the whole Disney universe (multiverse?) together with the ever realm and the never realm stuff. I can't say too much without spoiling but the show goes sooo deep and sooo hard it's just *chef's kiss*.

Not Ready to Be a Princess is from the Pilot. It was Sofia's first night as a princess. Bigger is Better is season 1 Amber, who yes, is a bit bratty and spoiled. She has a lot of growth throughout the seasons. You should really listen to Cedric's songs from Sofia the First. Cedric is the Royal Sorcerer and his songs are so fun. context: Sofía and her mother lived in the town (Sofía's father died on a boat) James and Amber are twins and children of King Ronald II, the mother died in childbirth and it is revealed that the queen could not have children and that is why the King makes a wish from a wishing well to be able to have children but of course that cost him his wife's life Then the King and Miranda (Sofía's mother) meet and get married and that makes Sofia have to adapt to a new environment and of course to a new family. Amber's song is when, sad because her father spends more time with Sofia, she finds the same wishing well and asks Sofia to stop spending time with her father and the well turns Sofia into a cat (the father is allergic). Sofia's is when she barely arrives at the castle and she feels that she cannot adapt (she considers that Amber and her friends despised Sofia)

I started watching Sofia the First in college. It's always fun when one of these little little kids shows blows you away, simply by treating its audience with respect. Sofia works very hard to teach complex emotional lessons in an accessible way. Sofia herself is such a sweet and relatable character. She isn't perfect, she does make mistakes, which makes it all the more impactful that she makes an effort to be kind. I absolutely love her.

Don't underestimate Sophia. She's a total badass. She's also like nine at the start of the show, and 11ish by the end I think? Amber is also pretty great. She's a brat at the start, a usually likeable one though. She's no Apple White. And she only gets better as the show goes on. One thing I want to mention about that wishing well that's surprisingly dark: The King, Amber and James's dad, once wished that he would have twins using it. He did (Amber and James). But his wife died in childbirth as a result. So in this Disney cartoon a man actually, unintentionally, killed his own wife. That wasn't Sophia's mom. She's his second wife and Sophia is his stepdaughter.

The black and white princess is named Princess Ivy. Sofia told Amber about her amulet being magical, and Amber wanted to borrow it. Sofia wouldn't let her so, Amber stole it thinking she'd just wear it for a bit and give it back. The amulet then cursed her, which summoned Ivy there. Amber felt bad, but she needed to actually make up for her mistake in order for the amulet to send Ivy back to her deserted island. There was another song later with Rapunzel where Raps helps Amber to realize what she needs to do.

the “I’m not ready to be a princess” song is actually from the movie premiere that launched the series, which in the first season she’s 8 and later by the end of the show she’s like 12? but I really love how you can see the other characters who’d been influenced by sofia positively mature and grow, her sister and cedric - who’s the royal sorcerer - primarily (WHICH BTW PLS LISTEN TO MY EVIL DREAMS THATS ONE OF MY FAV SONGSSS). the way this cast all have amazing vocals, darcy rose byrnes (amber) and ariel winter kill it every time which is crazy considering they were early teens when the show started. I have watched this whole series and I think you would like to listen to,"That's not who I am" bc it really stands out amber,and "This feeling I'm feeling in me" it shows the true ivy or the girl in the end who wants to rule Sofia's kingdom,and "For one and all" it stands out how Sofia is a good princess that she is willing to fight for her Kingdom and family, And "On my own" it shows how truly brave she is, and you want to know more of the two siblings listen to "two by two" it's about the twins (Amber and James, Sofia's step-siblings) and, "Me and my mom" just to see the past,and know why she says "I'm just a girl in the village doing alright," and her amulet is magical and word saying, "with each deed performed for better or worse a power is granted a blessing or curse" with so ivy came but amber saved the day,so she isn't rly evil,but the first start she is cause she was jealous but now she is is good!and I think you should listen to "The little witch" it's very entertaining and has beautiful harmony and shows people can change. I love this show it was my childhood

You should definitely do a part 3! Sofia the first has a lot of songs, some more serious than others. Sofia is 8 and Amber is 9, so is her twin brother James. By the time the show ends Sofia is 11 and Amber acts more her age.

I know this is an older video and you probably won't see, but to explain, her dad wasn't in the picture when she was younger and she grew up in a bakery I think? Anyways, her mom met and ended up falling in love with the king so he is now her step dad and the blonde boy and girl are her step siblings who are twins.

Matthew, if you do a part three, you have GOT to cover Cedric and some of his songs. He could honestly be his own video, being the main villain of the show and as he gradually struggles within a redemption arc. "Cedric the Great" and then "My Evil Dreams" are two key highlight songs

one of my favorite songs is actually from near the end of the show, and it's basically the end of amber's arc and she has some incredibly vocals in it. It's called "that's not who I am"

I was just thinking the butterfly lady was in the amulet right ? But like trapped in it, not just summoned by it. But also Elena from Elana of Avalor was also in the amulet at that point in time. So are there different sections to the amulet or was Elena and the other lady just chillin' in there like: "So how long have you been in here ? Ah, fifty years. That's cool." "Oh what do I plan to do when I come out ? I plan to take over the world? What about u?"

Princess Ivy was summoned because Amber, who was wearing the amulet at the time, was misbehaving and thus it cursed her by bringing forth Princess Ivy. It is a sort of evil version of the advice powers the amulet has where it can summon a Princess to give the wearer advice (and later can even transport Sophia to another Princess in need... it only happens twice). Hence why Ivy wants to destroy the amulet, because it can likewise send her back. . Princess Ivy, otherwise, is stuck on a deserted island. We actually visit it in one episode... Which oddly also a sort of send off for Ms.Nettle.

Sofia the First has a Lot of great songs! A great duet is Meant to Be a conflict song between Amber and James (the twins) and I can't remember the name the Mother's day song where Sofia expresses her jealousy over now having step siblings that take up her mothers time. Please listen to the spinoff show Elena of Avalor. Its so good! The music is great, the plot lines are either heartbreaking or hilarious or both. Elena was trapped in the amulet for 40 years and released by Sofia in one of the specials. So it's kinda about her journey to becoming queen as she adjusts to a city 40 years on from everything she ever knew.

You should watch to the song in season two episode one (I think it’s ep 1 but I know it’s early season 2)when Amber sings about her brother “two by two”. Amber is the kind of character that you wouldn’t like right away but if you pay attention to her emotions when she’s singing she genuinely feels bad when she messes up and she knows how to learn more from them
