I’ve always thought he said “can’t believe I made it out” because I could never pin point what he actually said and inferred from his other songs from this album was about travel and how he desperately wanted to leave the area he was in so my mind just made it sound like that from then on 😭😭
@Nozxoki4 жыл бұрын
The song “I’m Sorry Boris” is about how, even though the government is ruining London and is making him want to leave, the people he cares about are here and he doesn’t want to leave them behind. The song is also a continuation of “La Jolla”, the previous song on the album. The first verse is a response to “La Jolla’s” first verse as he figured out what can move him, when he didn’t know what could before. Because I know a lot of people don't understand why the song is called "I'm sorry Boris" as people outside the UK probably don't know our Prime Minister is Boris Johnson.

@sleepzyop2574 жыл бұрын
The last song in the album, "I'm Sorry Boris" talks about him leaving London. He wants to leave because of the many terrible things there. His water gave him cancer, the pavement hurt his feelings. Her city gave him asthma. That's why he wanted to leave. However, he can't seem to bring himself to. He's not ready to leave yet. Although this place has brought him so much suffering, it's his home. Although everyone there could care less about the people around them and only feel for themselves. In London, only one railway has barriers. One. Out of the many there, one place cares for its people, and I doubt they did it to be kind. Whenever someone jumps in front of a train, the people are more upset about the fact that they're late for work than anything else, and it's mortifying. There's a reason they fail to save their citizens. And that reason is carelessness.

whose gonna tell him... About the rest of his songs?
@Cygnusart0843 Жыл бұрын
3:34 he was actually drunk when he either wrote the lyrics or made the song. (Probably the first one) so either he wrote that lyric into the song while he was drunk or he put that in there after as a call back or a fun fact lol 😂

"Since I saw Vienna" is my go to song, there is something really nostalgic on the way it sounds, like getting the feeling of wander, something that I used to do and now I can't because of the current situation of the world, I miss getting lost.

"I don't think I've ever completed an artist's discography." Yeah. You haven't. There's still the Maybe I Was Boring EP. :)

My favourite song from the album 'Your city gave me asthma' is jubilee line since in my head I imagine it as a song about suicide and about the deaths from people jumping Infront of the jubilee line, and the lyric 'theirs a reason they put barriers' is how they use barriers to cover the bodies of the staining and rn I'm in a depressive state and 2 suicidal attempts currently self harming, also the song saline solution also is a song i relate to.

Your City Gave Me Asthma already came out 6 months ago and I’ve heard it since it first came out, but each time I listen I find more reasons to love it which is something I’ve never experienced before, the more I learn about the context of each song and the lyrics, as well as the overall sound. Just love it so much

There are actually four more Wilbur Soot songs. They were going to be on YCGMA but Wilbur didn't think they felt the vibe. They're called (in this order) "its all futile! its all pointless!", "For Memories", "White Wine In A Wetherspoons", and "Maybe I Was Boring" My favorite from those four is "White Wine In A Wetherspoons" but you should listen to them all. What's really cool is that all of Wilbur's older songs have stories behind them and they're actually personal.

fun fact: he actually wrote "losing face" drunk

I think it’s very neat how Wilbur said he doesn’t like this album but he released it because he knew we liked it:)))

i honestly love that you’ve listened to all of his songs now- theyre honestly so underrated in my opinion, and have really helped me at times. losing face is also really good, although wilbur actually isnt that fond of it for some reason. anyways, cant wait to see what content youre coming out with next :))
