Mathews Phase 4 33 First Build with Dalton

Dalton is in front the camera and behind the bow again for our Phase 4 33 First Build! We dive into the new tech on the Phase 4 and some of the new parts available for them in this build. The goal of this build is to be ahead of our upcoming customer builds in store by testing this particular Phase 4 33 for tuning, shooting, arrows and other fine details that we roll into each new build each year. Dalton puts it through the full Stage 3 tune process and completes the broadhead tune portion as well so this bow is ready to finish up this bow season.

Do you prefer the Micro Hades pro 4 blade over the Hades pro?

For Elk and 50+ yards, I prefer the Micro Hades Pro 4, for whitetail I prefer the Hades Pro 4. The Hades Pro 3 is just as good though the majority we setup use the 4 blade variants.

Would you recommend any of the Grim Reaper Mechanicals over the Pro series 4 blade for Whitetail?

I bought a Darton Veracity a month ago and a Mathews Phase 4 a week ago. I have a 28.5" draw and like to keep my speed below 300. The Darton is a absolute speed demon while the Mathews will hold a better group at 290 fps. There is one huge difference..the Darton hits like a cannon ball where the Mathews is lacking in a noticeable kinetic energy.

Very interesting! I'd be curious of their speed with the same arrow. 15fps at the same arrow weight and speed certainly could boost the KE some!

I'm still pretty new to archery, with the 3 fps of difference did you have to change the speed setting on your sight or is still close enough for say under 50 yards.

I have shot it out to 50 since recording and I have no had to make any adjustments for 3fps. Normally over 50 or more than 7fps you'll start to see a change in that.
