I spent some time around Bow and So So Def as a kid. My Dad dated a chick named Shauntelle Sampeur, which was his hair braider for years. She has credits on certain albums too. She also had 2 daughters and I used to spend the summers in Atlanta over there, we hit netherworld haunted houses, Lenox Mall, I think I was in between 3rd-5th grade. He had a dog named princess we used to keep for him when he went outta town. I got like Mike movie merch like the Calvin Cambridge bobble heads and all that shit. Custom grey leather so so def letterman, in elementary school. Haha Shoutout to Bow & JD & Brat.

Great interview, I was always curious of how he felt about Kris Kross and Romeo, glad it was brought up and discussed. Lil Wayne was kinda in that lane too, he started at 13-14
@Kali0790 Жыл бұрын
I'm 32 years old I grew up to Lil Bow Wow as a kid and I'm from Long Beach CA the home of Snoop Dogg who discovered Lil Bow Wow. Snoop Dogg is one of the reasons Lil Bow Wow exploded in LBC. I remember shit like if it was yesterday growin up in the early 2000s if you was a light skinned/brown skinned Black boy with braids or cornrows and shootin hoops you was baggin all the Elementary/Middle school & High school aged girls. As for the Lil Bow Wow & Lil Romeo beef, that shit was real although most people don't take them seriously. Bow despised Romeo over misinterpretation, ego, & industry capitalists who were lookin to profit off beef. If you go back and listen to Bow's 2nd & 3rd albums, Doggy Bag & Unleashed, both albums were disses to Romeo. Them bitches are littered with subliminal shots at Romeo. Tensions between the two didn't go public until Bow's fourth album, Wanted, where he dropped Fresh Azimiz. If you go back and listen to Romeo's 2nd album and all albums post the 2nd, Gametime, he was responding to Bow's disses. Personally Lil Bow Wow motivated me to pursue a rap career back when I was 9 years old while Bow was 13. I pursued music from age 9-23 around 13-14 years all inspired by Bow. With all due respect I completely understand Romeo. I think Bow was wrong to diss Romeo shit my first name is Andre and my very first rap name was "Lil Dre". If I was in Romeo's position back then instead of Romeo I would've done the same thing as Romeo, I would've imitated Bow a lil bit. Not out of disrespect but out of admiration. Lil Bow Wow was just that kid all little Black boys wanted to be like.
@juliuskingsely8256 Жыл бұрын
But the crazy thing is Bow used to go and shoot hoops with Rome at P’s house and such
@Kali0790 Жыл бұрын
@@juliuskingsely8256 You gotta remember though. The only one out of the two that brings that up is Romeo who's also the fan out of the two. Bow never talked about it or asserted that once not saying it didn't happen but I'm sayin we don't know the details of that. If anything it probably happened like once. Bow really wasn't fuckin with Romeo like that you can tell from all them subliminal shots Bow through at Rome. He really looked at Romeo as a copycat.
@juliuskingsely8256 Жыл бұрын
@@Kali0790 it happened multiple times though, I think P actually addressed this back then when it came to the whole Fresh az I is diss. As for Bow, I think it’s more of an ego thing because Romeo has shown him nothing but respect and that really bothers me. Especially considering the fact that Master P literally helped save Bow’s beloved Uncle Snoop’s career and life, it just surprises me

I could be wrong and maybe I am but when it come to him and JD, Bow is wanting to be seen more as an adult artis more “Hip Hop” instead of the artis we know him as. He’s an LL Cool J vibe and he’s wanting to be more as Snoop and I can see JD writing & producing to Bow’s strengths which is more LL. Bow is wanting to re-create a harder image. Bow even said durning his 3rd album him and JD were bumping heads creatively, you can look at how aggressive he performs his songs and his adlib choices, he wants to be more Death row the SoSo.
