I am almost 70 years old and I am watching your videos as if I am still going to college. That is how good you are. I wish we had teachers like you who could have explained just half as good as you are. Simply you are outstanding and enjoyable to watch your passion and enthusiasm. God bless you.

Congratulations, this is probably the most comprehensive (yet understandable) video on fractional exponents I have seen. In particular, it's nice to see that you didn't skip over (as is often the case) the fact that the "root then power" approach yields the same result as "power then root", and what's more you actually explained why this is the case due to the commutativity of multiplication. Nice one!

@livedandletdie2 жыл бұрын
Well, to make it even simpler, a^(-b/c) = a^-b * a^1/c = (1/a^b)^(1/c) so you get 1/(cth root( a^b)) or 1/a^(b/c) And a^b * a^c = a^b+c

I like how your philosophy on how to teach math (not shortcuts), but man, you need some rigour, you cannot just say that the square root of *x squared* is *x*, it's not, it's the absolute value of x. Similarly, you need more rigour when explaining fractional exponents because some rules that you have taught don't work always.
@Andresseus4 жыл бұрын
Positive Exponents begin with (1) line multiplying itself into different shapes with equal sides. A Negative Exponent is the same thing, except that (1) line, instead of multiplying itself, it starts "imploding" in on itself and that's why you write "1 Line Divided by X^5" ...or.... 1/x^5 Positive exponents is growth. Negative exponents are shrinkage. Visit my channel for a geometrical visual, lol.
