These videos are great. I just got the TI89 after a lot of research. It's fairly straightforward except for understanding some of the syntax required, but even then, once you know one you can guess how to fix errors after. Just as a note. To clear the stack you can go F1, 8 then clear to clear all the home entires. Also Root( can be accessed quickly by hitting the yellow diamond modifier and 9. That's my only pet peeve is that it's not indicated on the keypad. My final remark is that the calculator apps really don't let the device shine. I find using a mouse on a screen cumbersome and the calculator in real life, in your hands just operates a lot more intuitively. That's just my opinion, but there you go.

if you hit the green diamond then "EE" to get the "key" option, you can see the hidden key functions

Hey Jason, I really enjoy your teaching and tutorials. FYI, at around 20:36, when overviewing "Floor" and "Ceiling", you state; "Up to the Floor, and down to the Ceiling." When, of course, it should be the other way around. (Don't want students getting confused) :-) Thanks so much for providing these lessons.

I just got a ti-89 (not titanium) and dont have the root function (its not where you showed it,not on the catalog neither pressing diamond o), i was wondering if ther is a way to get it

Hi there, I have a question. ON my TI-89 when I do a simple math problem like 5769.47 - 106.1 the calculator display my answer as 5.76847E3. How do I take this off so it displays it in simple form.?Thank you, David

Head over to mode, next exponential formal, in here you will find 3 options. It sounds like you either have it in scientific or engineering.

In my calculator I put ans(-5) and appears ERROR SYNTAX...whyy?? I cant do any calculus starting with minus (-)...I dont know whyy : (

Make sure you are using the negative key instead of the minus key. The negative key is under 3 and on the right side of the period.
