After independence Bengal became deindustrial area bcz of socialist policy of Nehru then subsequent rule of left & now TMC. After destruction of the industry of Bengal now we have nothing. On the other hand Bollywood doesn't produce such games bcz the consumers of Hindi areas r from non industrial areas.That's why the anthropological changes which happened with industrialization & subsequently crt a high class taste among consumers didn't happen.Hence Bollywood stuck in masala dar movies. Plus there was a time around 90-2010 when many bengali movies were also infected with bollywood masalas but things started to change around 2009.
