This is one of the few 'open world' games where I feel like the 'side quests' (the tales, etc.) are just as important as Jin's main storyline. I'm interested to see what everyone else's opinions are, but I feel like the way you've tackled this episode is pretty perfect. A nice mix of smaller and larger quests, as you move toward whatever main quest marker you want to hit next. This game is pretty much all thriller, no filler when it comes to its content.

I love the way you take to the world and the story. You encounter every quest and minigame introduction as intended, like your first time climbing the shrine, hot springs, bamboo strike, fox den, golden bird, and others. In contrast to other creators and myself, I discovered these "introductions" come halfway or at the end, which makes it look weird because I've accomplished nearly half of them already lol.

You can always do the tales of your Ishikawa and Masako when they pop up. They say part x out of 9, but thats until the end of the game. You can't do all parts in a row, they are meant to be done when you are anyway close. Perfect stories and good rewards as well. And as you already noticed these characters are well written.

The kunai is a life saver. Took me a min to get used to using it during combat. If I get surrounded by a group I just throw it real quick and you can prob get a quick 2-3 kills on the guys who are stunned

loving this series, not sure if people have already told you this but a few simple tricks and tips thatll help you on your journey. You can 'observe' camp leaders before you kill them. you need to be in stealth and get close enough then a prompt will appear to observe them. this will count towards your stance unlocks meaning you can get two points worth of unlocking for one camp leader 1 by observing and another by killing. Birds that fly next to your horse while your riding will lead you to near by points of interest if you ever see a bird flying low next to you it might be worth following it to see where it takes you. Glad your enjoying it!

I love this side stuff. As someone who dove head first into this game and did everything, one of the things I appreciated so much was that even the side stuff felt very rewarding. Everything had a purpose, and it wasn't a "2% increase to horse speed." A game that has weight to every activity is a rarity these days. I love being able to watch someone discover this masterpiece. The purple flower area is part of a quest! Try looking for musicians, they tend to be in the middle of nowhere, down long roads or by rivers (you may need to use a guide to find them)

This was an amazing episode dude! love all the side stuff in this game and I hope you continue to do that. A couple of tips: The traveler's attire spawns a firefly that points the direction where the secret is. You have to use those kunai and the black powder bomb more often. Hi Mati! Great video as usual! A small hint for you to not make my mistakes: don't wander around the map, but look closer to fire and smoke at the horizon to locate enemy camps. Conquering them will open the map really fast as it opens nearby area too, and it will be easier to collect all the question marks when the map is fully open :)

Oh, and you can switch an armour sets option in the menu! So that you'll be able to configure full armour sets and switch between them with one button instead of choosing each and every piece of gear independently! :) Really saves a lot of time! :)

Tip: make sure to explore shrines carefully the first time up- it’s easy to miss some paths (like you might have at the Fire Kami shrine cherry tree and Shrine of the Sun) since the shrine zips you back to the beginning after you reach the top (so dont have the chance to backtrack and find other secrets..)

Throw the kunai right before their heavy attacks so you can stop their attack and counter plus the kunai goes through shields so mainly use them against shieldmen when you can’t get good damage in great vid mati🔥💯

First are character tales like those of Ishikawa, they feel like mini main story tales that i recommend doing all. Second are mythical tales that you absolutely must do because they are awesome and give cool rewards. Third are regular side quests, just do them when you want. Also the parkour in this game is really smooth and good so if you see a rooftop, tower or wall with enemies chances are you can get on top of it somehow

the kunai knives are really useful, they will easily break an enemies stance making it a quick kill if you attack right after throwing, and if you upgrade them, you can throw 2-3 at a time to break all their stances

Since you mentioned bleach.. little funfact. in the Japanese dub version Jin is voiced by Kazuya Nakai who is the VA for Zoro in One piece. pretty epic voice. Also little tip. -always when you see some of these wooden signs(for example at these tori gates) try to bow infront of them. they have some easteregg animations hidden when you do that. -Also when the weather gets cloudy/stormy you can clear it up with your floot playing(The game decides the weather depending how much you stray away from the path of a samurai and use more stealth. so when you play alot of stealth its more likely the weather will be stormy).

11:46 the "guitar" is a biwa, yes, like the lady at 1:26:28 is playing. At first I thought it was a shamisen, but the biwa makes a different sound. Interestingly, the Western guitar and Japanese shamisen BOTH feature in the reveal trailer for ghost of Yotei, which you should definitely watch/react to if you haven't already Mati! 41:15 I believe those are crows. 45:59 The "little swings" are for hanging pots and stuff off for cooking. They're all above a square indoor hearth in the floor. In my opinion, you should take your time and play as you have been. This is a Wandering Samurai Simulator, and half of the fun is running into random stuff on the way somewhere. You'll get to the big stuff eventually, but the game does sure like to throw distractions at you! Just be like water, and go with the flow.

Great play through. My only none spoiler thing is to do any side quests that you can before continuing the main quest. Helps unlock more abilities and upgrades which is highly needed the more you play. You will find yourself going back if you main story too far. And go to the question marks as they appear. Prioritize any BLUE quests that come up! Trust me your adventure will get even more fulfilling and satisfying if you take my advice. Have fun!!

You said you need to get 'faster' with the combat...I don't think that's necessarily true. You're doing fine, and last session you were doing amazing. I think you just need to slow down a little bit. On spear enemies, it's best to wait for the red attack, dodge, THEN hit, otherwise, they're going poke you as you try to attack. On shield enemies, you want to do strong attacks till their shield breaks, and at that point you can just mash light attack till they die. Once their guard is broken, the window for attack is pretty huge (I noticed a lot of times you'd maybe only do 1 or 2 R1s on a shield break). Kunai are also great to immediately break guards or take down opponents when you feel overwhelmed in the moment. All of that said, you're doing great, and you'll only get better the more combat you do. I freaking love this game. So glad to see my favorite let's player tackling it.

I recommend at least doing all the blue side quests and all the grey character side quests. 1:09:29 As a tip for running, when Jin gets tired and slows down, just roll and then you can start running at full speed again right after. 1:10:36 🤣

Yeah the armor sets change with every upgrade and their perks get better, also acroos the various regions theres places you can alter the color. You get new armor, sword, and bow dyes in NG+ that are pretty sweet as well. Upgrading your Tanto/Dagger will make Assassinations way quicker.
